So....if my rampant postings are annoying, blame JRand and Elmore!  Only they have the power to steal my thunder right now.

Man!  BK is goign to be perplexed to see five (count 'em 5) pages already up and running when he logs on.

At a minimum, of course.  It will only take a couple of more folks...and possibly some coffee...before this forum is buzzing like a sawmill.

Surely you can make up the difference out-of-pocket!

Provide the guilty persons with your list and let THEM inform the hoped-for contributors that more is needed.  (I presume the desired contribution amount was increased).

DR CILLA LIZ - a couple of suggestions for the stains:

CLR - since they are recent.

Lighter Fluid - used carefully and not WITH the CLR.

Actually they are LOWER and the "benefits" or "special considerations" are different.   :P

Sunday morning greetings!  Now that it's the 13th day of Christmas, I'm allowed to take down our decorations.

Sorry I missed the Music Man discussions last night.  That was the first show I ever saw live when I was 9 years old (Forrest Tucker as Harold Hill, Joan Weldon as Marian).  The movie is one of my all-time favorites.

And have I ever told you all that DH Richard and I met across the reference desk in the library where I had my first professional job?

That's also where I met DR Elmore.

Sorry I missed the Music Man discussions last night.

Actually, it's the topic of the day...and all day talk about "The Music Man" is allowed, encouraged, solicited, permitted.

There's still tons to say about it...and different perspectives.

"The Music Man" was my first show in college.  It was the first show of the first semester of my freshman year.  I was the train conductor and a dancing/singing townsperson.  I was in "Trouble", "Marian the Librarian" and "Shipoopi", plus the finale.

Good morning, all!  I wondered at all the posts and I should have known it was DR Jose waxing enthusiasic about sausage.  My first suspicion was that DR DakotaCelt had gone off the deep end over Matt Ashford.

Yep, I'm thinking right now about dragging out THE MUSIC MAN on DVD.  Tonight, as a part ofd her Christmas gift, I'm taking goddaughter Charlotte to THE FANTASTICKS, a show she's never seen.  when it colsed at the Sullivan Street Theatre, she gave her dad hell for never taking her to see it, so tonight's the big night.  I am looking forward to it for two reasons: spending time with her before she vanishes next year to college and every time I see THE FANTASTICKS, I'm eighteen again.

DR JRand56, I'm sorry about your Dustin Hoffman feelings; I've always liked him as an actor, and in the several times I've actually been in his company - once in Drama Book Shop, several times when he was rehearsing DEATH OF A SALESMAN, and I helped his production company with his research on MERCHANT OF VENICE - I've found to be intensely shy, intensely kind, very charming, and sly.  The cold, unemotional Peter Hall production of MERCHANT also featured Twiggy's husband Leigh Lawson, Nathaniel Parker, Michael Siberry and Ben Browder, and I thought Dustin was quite wonderful.  Someday, I hope I'll get a chance to tell you in person about the behavior of the various and sundry people involved in the DEATH OF A SALESMAN revival.

And the word of the day is: CHIMERICAL!
Casey would waltz
With a CHIMERICAL blonde,
Who dazzled with her lightness of foot,
With her radiant face, with her shapely body,
And who doted entirely upon Casey,
Which he thought was much more fantastic
Than the reality of dancing alone.

You're right, DR FJL.  It's disgraceful what our community has let happen to our Carnegie library building.
