She made brazen overtures to a man who never had a friend in this town till she came here.

The overture to BRAZEN is one of my favorites.

I actually prefer the musical to the original play BRAZEN IN THE SUN.

Tornadoes near Atlanta, people trapped in homes....EDI, please check in as soon as you can!

Wow! It's been rainy and a bit windy. I think I'll turn on the news!

Yesterday was a beautiful day. When our friends came over to the new house, there were police speeding thru the neighborhood and police helicopters flying overhead. When we left, and got to Peachtree Street, we saw several police cars and a guy in cuffs. We thought is must be something serious, but when I got home, we had an email from the neighborhood security...a woman had her purse snatched from the nearby shopping center.

Helicopters?

Amy has her old house in Marietta and I think the new one is near Buckhead (I could be wrong about that) and if memory serves me right they are both north or at least the northern part of the city...I'm guessing a little

Thanks for the info, Cilla! You are absolutely right about the location of our houses. Boy, are we out of the loop, weather-wise! We were driving home listening to the revival of the Music Man. The performances aren't nearly as good as the movie! And the barberhop quartet even sounds out of tune some of the time. There are so many amazing BSQ groups out there you think they could have done better. (One of the top ones is in Marietta!)

So that's how we missed the news!

Actually, when we discussed her auditioning for the kids show, I now remember that she said something about being "up" for an ABC show - is that this?

Shayne - there's no video on that link.

All this talk of Robert Preston, and nary a mention of his final screen performance in The Last Starfighter.

I was thinking of it...didn't know it was his last film. I also like "Dark at the top of the Stairs".

Well, I believe I'm going to take advantage of my current state of drowsiness and head to bed.  -I'm just not in the mood to get to bed just as the sun is starting to come up again.  ;)

Goodnight.

I go to DVD Journal.  They're mainly a DVD review site and I don't know how much pre-release info they give out but they also list a lot of other information, including top grossing movies. ::)

Looks like the tornadoes were near DH's folks but it's too late to call them now.

It's too late for me to be up, too...an early session tomorrow. 'Night, y'all!

I'm watching "The Apprentice" and they're brutal.  The team who lost the first task had to sleep outside in tents!  AND they'll stay there until they win a task.

Each week, the winning team gets to sleep inside a masion.  Tonight, they had dinner with Trump, his wife and Wolfgang Puck.

But what strikes me so significantly, not just with this, but in general, is that our western society has devolved significantly into a society in which true talent gets dismissed in favor of "adequate."

You are ready for "The Fountainhead".
