Sunday evening, I shall be taking in Johnny Crawford and his 1920's Dance Band at Pioneer Playhouse in Danville, Kentucky.

Sounds like fun.  Have a good time.

We had a wonderful Opening Night performance. Great audience. Great energy in the house. And the cast, crew and orchestra were really at the their peak. -Our "Dream Curly" even ended up doing a triple pirouette in one place where he only had to do a double. ;)

:)  :)

Here is the question I should have asked on Wednesday's Ask BK: Why will people eat "pork butt" but they won't even consider "beef tongue?"

You want tongue, go to any good Jewish deli & don't expect to see "pork butt" ;)

TOD:  All the new Lionsgate catalog BDs.  Got CHOCLAT and AMELIE reviewed yesterday, am now wending my way through BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY, and then a film of which I know nothing, THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS, some sort of Holocaust drama.

I am currently listening to that new Deodato CD I posted a YouTube link to the other day.

I loved AMELIE, wasn't crazy about CHOCOLAT.

DITTO!  I like the movie Chocolat better than the book.

Thanks for all the Vibes for my sister-in-law. The whole situation really caught her - and everyone else - off guard. She literally felt something wrong earlier in the week so she went to the doctor yesterday morning. They found a cyst the size of a golf ball on her thyroid gland. -And she had just had a physical three weeks and nothing had turned up then. Thankfully, she has a great set of doctors - and some good insurance - so she was able to see everyone she needed to see over the past 36 hours. Now we wait.

And speaking of John Wayne, today is the 72nd birthday of his son, Patrick Wayne.  Wow...he's 72!

He's now eligible to date DR MBarnum. Send Mikey Patrick's phone number.

I finally got to listen today to the new relase of the London cast recording of THE MUSIC MAN, which I hadn't heard in over twenty years. I enjoyed it very much.

Weird question, jose - Is it remotely possible that there was yet another party for the donors that all that reported food was being made for?  or was that food just a figment of someone's imagination?

DR FJL - Nope. The donors party was the reception immediately following the performance: open bar and desserts. I guess "we" all had figured that some "real food" would be available - provided - later to the cast and crew. "We" did see trays of food from CostCo sitting on the staff kitchen counter, so... But those trays turned out to be filled pita chips, vegetables, hummus and cookies. -Better than nothing. In the end, no one was truly disappointed or felt cheated. And most of us were just tired anyway after such a long week.

However, there was plenty o' food in the greenroom before the show. Lots of opening night goodies that various people brought in: candy, brownies, pies, a bushel of just-picked vine-ripened peaches(!).

Maybe her probably gay husband Marcus wears a "yarmulke."

Or maybe he just simplifies it, and wears a "kipa".

Here is the question I should have asked on Wednesday's Ask BK: Why will people eat "pork butt" but they won't even consider "beef tongue?"

Because "butt" is actually "shoulder", while "tongue" is still "tongue".

Yogi has stopped pacing but is still wining some.  Craig just left for a two night hiking/camping trip.  It was interesting watching him organize his backpack.  It doesn't look to me like he has enough food.  He said he has 600 calories worth & will stop today for a big lunch.  He is meeting a friend in California, each driving about 3 hours.

Then get on a train, with a bunch of strangers, but none, most likely, will be named Guy Haines.

But how would you know, have you ever seen Guy's face?

Oh... Before I go...

A Vibe Request...

My sister-in-law and niece were supposed to attend last night's opening night performance. I hadn't heard from the all day, and finally called my sister-in-law around 5:00 and left a message. A few minutes later, she called back. It turns out that she had been at the doctors all day. And she will be seeing another doctor today, an oncologist, to have a biopsy done. She seemed very calm yesterday when I talked to her, but I'm sure any and all VIBES would be appreciated. Thank You.

Vibes for DR Jose's sister-in-law!

Jose, I'm curious about something.  Is there much interaction between the cast and the orchestra before and after the performances?  At Tacoma Musical Playhouse there is a lot of camaraderie, but they use a lot of the same musicians every show, so becomes kind of a family.  When I did GUYS AND DOLLS at Seattle Music Theatre the cast and musicians had only a nodding acquaintance.

Since you will all be together until October is there a closer interaction?
