From yesterday

I posted

Quote from: Michael S on July 18, 2011, 09:22:57 PM
And talking of Cabaret

I've been listening to the 1993 studio recording of Cabaret.

DR ELMOORE orchestrated the four bonus tracks from the film: Mein Herr, Maybe This Time, Money, Money & Tiller Girls

ELMOORE replied
No, I did not score "Maybe This Time." I believe the wonderful conductor John Owen Edwards orchestrated that.

I reply

Went back to look at the booklet

You are credited with the four songs and John Owen Edwards is credited with "NSO Ensemble conducted by John Owen Edwards.

I won't tell anyone if you don't tell anyone.  ;D

That's because John Yap keeps lousy records and miscredits everyone; I've been credited for work by Danny Troob, Ralph Burns has been credited for my work, etc. I worked on the CABARET recording while I was in LA mixing something with BK, possibly "Lost In Boston 1 & 2."  I remember the work, but I am vague about the time.

John Owen Edwards scored "Maybe This Time," and I will not take credit for another's work. Don't believe everything you read.

Thank you for the clarification. I applaud your integrity
Danny Troob is an old acquaintance. Elmore, do you know how he's doing? He wrote a score to a musical called "All Bets Off" that I particularly enjoyed, especially a song called "Take Me Down" that Patti LuPone sang the demo of. I know he's done a ton of Disney work, but I haven't heard about him in ages.

I was just looking to see who's been searching what on this here site recently - not much action there but I did find this written in June - I didn't know you could write something in our search engine but apparently you can.  This was written the day I posted about the bad experience with the rotisserie chicken at the Hamlet - we must really be Google friendly at haineshisway.com:

Search: query for 'I am very dissapointed to hear about your poor experience with the rottiserie chicken,i would love for you to give us another chance to correct our mistake. At the hamlet we strive to provide the best possible service, food quality, and consistancy.by the way, which of our 3 locatins did you experinced this? i hope to hear from you soon, and hopefully you give us anther chance. I would be happy to provide you with a complementary rottiserie chicken dinner.Adolpho Perez.'

I forgot to comment-interesting.  Have you responded?

I Googled the Hamlet and that name but didn't come up with anything.  The comment had no e-mail address or any way for me to respond, at least that I can see.

I'm still trying to figure out how one can write something in the search engine. ???

In any case... If you'd really like a free rotisserie chicken dinner, I'd call some sort of main number at Hamburger Hamlet and tell them that "Adolpho Perez" told you to call them and see what happens from there.

Topic is simple - the most breathtaking roadshow film or films you ever saw.  For me, Seven Wonders Of The World (my first Cinerama film - read about it in Benjamin Kritzer), West Side Story, The Sound Of Music and an original Todd-AO print of Oklahoma, which was mind-boggling in its clarity.

Does anyone know when - and what - the last "Cinerama" film was? -When and what the last "Roadshow Engagement" was?

It seems like Arena has release some new production stills from Oklahoma!.

*The photos are actually a mix of some of the "old" ones from the Fall, and some from the current run.

**I also never realized just how much Cody Williams sweats. ;)

And since I have to be back at the theatre in 12 hours for understudy rehearsal...

And since I have to run a few errands before rehearsal...

Goodnight

I will happen to be in Montreal when the French language version of The Brain From Planet X premiers. Looking forward to seeing it.

A full report will follow

Can't wait to hear about it, Michael!

Good news, TCB.  :)

I assume this means we can all start talking about cancer again.  ;)

It wasn't cancer that I was worried about, but rather MS.

Both my grandmothers had Alzheimer's.  Potentially, that's what I've got to look forward to. :P
Forget about it!

IPT {in poor taste}

I actually think it's funny. :D

The last true Cinerama film (three panel) was How The West Was Won.  After that, any film calling itself Cinerama wasn't really true Cinerama but 70mm prints modified so the could be projected on the curved screen, i.e. Mad World and 2001.
