Back from the booksale site, where I dropped off 3 boxes and 1 bag of books. Then I went across the street to Kroger and filled up the back of my car with foodstuffs. My car is now empty and ready for the rocking chair to go to Kathryn's, but not today. I'm staying in out of the heat for the rest of the day.

Cool Vibes to all those in the throes of the crippling heat wave.

It's F 54 degrees in Oakland right now, and the high is expected to reach F 72 degrees this afternoon.

The weatherman, this morning, cited the high pressure system stalled over the central U.S. as a reason why we're not warming up.

He also said that Iowa's heat index was F 130 degrees yesterday.

I have very faint recollections of my sister taking me to SOUND OF MUSIC when I was very young, but my strongest memory is of her getting a ticket on the way there. She turned left illegally.
