Had a scintillating dinner with our very own Alet Taylor.  Lots o' laughs.  I had a bowl of matzo ball soup and a turkey sandwich.  I could only eat half a ball and half the soup itself, and barely finish the small version of the turkey sandwich.  That means that I have indeed been losing weight.

Good Evening!

Well, even though I got my day into gear an hour or so later than I had planned, I managed to get everything done that was on my list for the day. I have a few things I may take care of in the morning, but those can also wait until next week.

Speaking of ice cream...

Today's featured Frozen Custard Flavor at Shake Shack was Vanilla Almond Fudge.

It was very good.

One Ben & Jerry's flavor I do miss is "Mandarin Orange Chocolate". I believe it was a scoop shop only flavor, but, man, was it tasty.

Ok maybe if I get some sleep I will stop being cranky

I hung out with a friend tonight who's in the midst of working on a very major project. She looked very tired, stressed and overworked, and midway through our evening, I suggested that we cut the evening short so that she could go home and take a few hours for herself to rest and relax. Well... That suggestion did not go over well. At all. She knows she's very stressed out right now, but didn't want anyone else telling her that. Of course, because she's so tired, she's having a hard time getting any good, quality work done on the project. And she's gone through this cycle before with other projects, so... In any case... It was a very weird, awkward and unfortunate way to end the evening. -But I do hope she just takes an hour to be "quiet" and look after herself some tonight or over the next couple of days.

And so ends another evening with Julie Taymor.

Today, I have to get up early because we're going to Seattle for the day!  We're going to the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame.  I've never been.  I have been to my niece's favorite restaurant in Seattle called Cafe Flora, which is where we'll be eating...not (sadly) the Space Needle.  It turns out that The Space Needle was just a suggestion, and no one else wanted to go, so we're not.  Maybe next time.

Have a good day, all!

Today, I went with the family to Cafe Flora (I had their Rancho Colorado scramble...I'm not sure what's in it, but it was good), then we went to the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum.  It was okay.  There really wasn't much to it.  The SF museum was really just a small "Battlestar Galactica" exhibit with a couple of full-scale ships and some costumes and also an "Avatar" exhibit with a few (what I call) "bonus section from the DVD"-type movie clips, models of the characters and animals that were created for the movie, and other things like that.  It was all just okay.  We didn't go to the "Experience Music Project."  My niece was with us and she couldn't stay for very long...she has problems with her ears and loud noises. :-\

After that, we went up the Space Needle.  It was pretty cool.  We took pictures and walked around the observation deck.  I bought a souvenir plastic Space Needle cup (I left it at my sister's, though) and then we left and went to my parents' house.  Then we all went to our respective homes.  It was a fun day, but if I ever go back to the EMP/SF Museum, I'm going to go by myself.

And then, I decided to check my work e-mail.  A message was sent out that my friend Kathy in the business office is no longer employed!  Her position has been eliminated! :'( The e-mail said that because of the business office restructuring and better efficiency within the department, "through no fault of Kathy's, the position wasn't serving the purpose for which it was created." I don't really know any more than that.  I also don't know if it was effective today, or when her last day is/was.  I can only hope that she had some notice before this announcement went out.
