DR George, odd about your lights.  You are lucky to be handy and can replace your own fixtures.  I hope you are happier with the new lights.

Thanks Jack and Jane...but I totally had a brain fart.  It turns out that when I wrote about the 46/45 inch measurements that I thought that I had measured at the store, I actually had measured the 36/35 inch bulbs at the store (off by 10 inches) and, of course, those measurements weren't what I needed.  I did need and they did have the correct 47/18 inch bulbs and I bought two 2-packs.  They fit and worked perfectly except when the darned fixtures pulled out of the ceiling because whoever put them up only used regular screws into the drywall and not any kind of hollow wall mounts.  So, one of the fixtures is held up with just one screw and the other is just hanging by the wires.

So, all I need now are some hollow wall mounts for the ceiling and all will be done!

Back from seeing a new musical entitled South Street, which, within its first twenty minutes, instantly entered my pantheon of the worst musicals I've ever seen.  It was beyond pathetic but what's more pathetic is that some "producer" raised enough money to put this piece of crap into the Pasadena Playhouse.  Of course, there was the requisite woo-hooing from friends and family for even the lamest numbers (well, they were all lame, with some of the worst lyric writing I've ever heard - all false rhymes - I don't know that were three real rhymes in the entire show).
