Time to get ready for work, I guess.  I'm gonna be a lot earlier today than usual thanks to that darned skeeter.

Good morning!

Cool morning, and I am loving it. I have the house opened up and cooling down. Haven't gotten to do this in weeks, but having the A/C off, even for a morning, is nice.

For all those dipping into their DVD collections for great Cyd Charisse moments, I cannot recommend highly enough her number from "The Desert Song" in "Deep in My Heart".  It's Charisse at her most sensuous and beautiful.

And if you have "The Harvey Girls", watch for the young, fresh Charisse dancing in several numbers.

I'm on about an hour earlier than usual. I've been invited over to my friend Hal's house to swim in his pool, so I'll be there later this morning into early afternoon. Haven't been this season, so I'm looking forward to it.

Dancing with the wonderful James Mitchell. Very sensual.

I stayed home yesterday.

My sinuses were giving me fits for some reason.

At any rate, I was sufficiently recovered by late afternoon, at which time I baked a cake.

It was a yellow cake and I smothered it in Classic Chocolate icing.

Yum-yum eat-em-up eat-em-up!

Yesterday the first Deep Discount box came, and I was HORRIFIED that Warners used full-sized Amray cases for the Bette Davis films. That box is ridiculously large. I know they were selling those films separately, but why or why couldn't they have used slim cases?

The box sets are starting to stack up, review-wise. Yesterday I got THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO, Season 2 - Volume 1. That and MAD MEN don't come out until July 1, so I'm putting them off until I finish with THE FURIES. Hopefully, I'll get started on it today after I return from the pool.

Nothing on TV for me tonight, so whatever I'm reviewing, I'll continue to review. Of course, I'll be finishing LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME as I cook and eat lunch when I return from my pool outing.

I liked a lot of "America's Got Talent" last night.  However, the cut-aways to Jerry Springer during the opera singer's performance was completely inexplicable.  Did we NEED Springer telling us the obvious...that the audience was standing?  And a few moments later...that the judges were standing?  I totally don't get the editing.  It was as if he wished to rob all the emotional power out of that last auditioner.

DR Ron Pulliam - Well, from what I've seen on YouTube, it just looks like they're following the same format and style as the original UK series.  However, once they reach the later rounds, then the commentary seems to stop. ???

I slept very well until about 5 a.m.  Shortly thereafter I was aware that my left arm and the left side of my face were throbbing.  I was, apparently, the feast for some mosquito and I have about five bites, including one on the side of my left eye socket (giving the eye a swollen appearance).

It's hideous, I tell you...HIDEOUS!

OUCH!!!

Here's a link to a video from American Movie Classics on Science fictions movies into stage musicals.

BTW, bk, the reporter (Kevin Maher) is a big big fan of yours; when he saw you were involved with the recording, he told us:  "I grew up watching "Spaceship" (aka "The Creatute Wasn't Nice") over and over. "  But he didn't include any genre spoofs in general, in the report, which is very short.  STARFIGHTER has only 15 seconds of a 3-minute-or-so or so report.

Warning: There's a brief car commercial before the video report. After clicking on the link, you have to click on Gollum if you want to see the video.

Most coverage time-wise is about LORD OF THE RINGS, but LAST STARFIGHTER had 15 seconds of pics and commentary at 1 minute, 44 seconds in.

Yes, sorry to read about DR Ron Pulliam sinuses and mosquito woes. Funny, I can't remember any mosquito bites last summer, but I've awakened two mornings this month with three or four bites on the back of each leg. Very annoying.

Sounds like the bites on your face are much more irritating and bothersome.

It's so cool this morning that I didn't even go up to my office. I'm on-line from my kitchen laptop sitting next to an open door with the most wonderful breeze being pulled through the kitchen by the attic fan.

Would that all summer mornings could be this p[leasant.

OK. I'm going to hop off the internet now and get a few things done around here before heading off to the pool.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Even though I didn't have to take a pill at midnight, I was still up late last night waiting for and then visiting with Rob and Mary Linda upon their return from Michigan.  They brought freshly-picked strawberries from her parents' small farm - YUM!

I am in the office.

I have a cheesy omelet (not rancid, though) and some extra crispy bacon for brekkies.

I was expecting a "What happened to your eye?" query from the lady at the shop where I bought my breakfast.

Instead, I was treated to a glimpse at her unmade-up face.

She was "in the process" of doing her makeup, but had not gotten to her eyes or eyebrows.

Suddenly, I don't feel hideous at all.

:)

Then did you ask her to finish up your make-up while she was at it?

I rather like This Large Rancid Piece of Cheese!   :)

If so, then you'll adore The Angry Red Planet.  If ever any movie ever made could be a large rancid piece of cheese, this one qualifies, along with its star Gerald Mohr!

No.  I was "in the moment" of not feeling hideous.

Also, the only "makeup" I use is soap, water and a little moisturizer.

What do you use?
