I am totally shocked again that IMO America got it right with the bottom 3 teams. It is so odd. But this is the first year that i can remember that the B3 have (lately at least) been the ones that were the worst.
I will say though that i was a bit surprised with who the judges sent home. Not for hte guys (gev, thayne and matt were in the B). I totally agree that gev should have been safe. His solo was so enjoyable. And he has been doing great on the show. I was torn between matt and thayne. I think i like matt better. But he'd been in the bottom a bunch of times. And he just did not "work" with his partner (he left). I will say i was quite surprised that they sent kortini (his partner) home. I thought they loved her. I was not surprised they saved courtney (gev's partner). She did a good solo and had done well on the show. And had never been in the bottom. So it was between comfort and kortini. Comfort never really did anything for me. And i was really surprised that only nigel voted for comfort to go.
I still think it will be interesting once the teams split up. There are people like will, who i am sure it will not affect. Since he is better than his team. But there are others like kherington, who works so well with her partner, but may not be as popular alone. I wonder how many weeks till the split?

I wondered aloud yesterday if my dad had had a little too much sangria at the celebration since the sangria was flowing - but he seems to be fine and dandy, so in retrospect I'm glad he enjoyed.

And dad wasn't driving, so no issue there anyway.

Awesome photos, Cillaliz! I haven't figured out how to take fireworks photos. But then, I don't go to fireworks shows, so I guess it's a moo point.

I saw fireworks on the way home from rehearsal last night.....  I had arrived at the theatre about 3:30.  I hung a light instrument, focused it, and added it to the necessary cues.

Then of course discovered that the light bled underneath the front porch and also through the siding....  So I had to cut styrofoam to mask that....

Then I put a couple of rugs down inside the "house" to keep the stomping of the cast down.

Then I carried all of the props from the Youth Theatre Workshop upstairs - they had been left at the foot of the steps in several boxes.

Then I put ivy on the arbor arch.

Then I finished the display case in the lobby.  Then it was 6:15, so I sat down to rest before rehearsal.

Then my friend Karen came by with her new car, a Chrysler Crossfire, and she took me for a FAST spin in it.  It's a great car.  She says Chrysler can't give them away, a two seat sports car is not what America is looking for.  She got a great deal on this Executive Model that had 1000 miles on it....less than half the SRP.

Those Crossfires are fine looking automobiles....I wish they came in a sedan size...not that I could afford one.

I was wrong.  We didn't have three people gone last night.

We had FOUR people gone.  Chris - one of the leads had emailed me and a couple of other cast members that he would not be in tonight.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well I told the cast that I would read the role, and that I would do it from the house or onstage whichever they preferred.  They ask me to read onstage....so I did.....and we cut almost 55 minutes off the show....he talks that SLOWLY......

I am at a loss....but I am starting to learn the part....although I am WAY too old for it.....

And that is why I am in a very very bad mood on this 4th of July.

Good morning!

It wasn't cool enough when I went to bed last night to turn off the A/C and open the windows, so I'm without fresh air inside the house this morning, the first morning all week where that's happened. Supposedly, tonight it to be a bit cooler, so I might be able to do it then. We'll see.

MISHIMA is a two-disc set, and since the movie is two hours and contains a commentary and other bonuses on the first disc, I may just do it today, and do the second disc tomorrow. Since I've missed the street date, one more day isn't going to make much difference.

DR JRand and others who direct shows:

I simply cannot believe these cast people. In all the years I have done theater, I have never missed a single rehearsal nor been late for a single rehearsal (even shows where I was driving almost 60 miles to the theater each night). I was in rehearsal during both root canals that I've had in my life, and I didn't beg off from rehearsal because of the surgery. You get cast in a show - you be there for rehearsals when you're called. It's just that simple.

To be honest, I've never felt any of the directors around here showed gratitude over such dedication since many people do miss rehearsals (for a variety of reasons, some understandable, often not) and still get cast in shows, but that's the way I'm made. Just like I never took cuts from class in college even though I had unlimited cuts, I couldn't NOT go to a rehearsal if I'm expected to be there.

I will be curious to see what kind of crowd is at the grocery store on July 4th when I go run my errands later. I can't remember going there before on the 4th.
