Today I stopped at COSTCO on the way home to get some photos printed and to transfer images to a CD
since I had 30 miuntes to kill while the photolab lady did her thing I went for wander around the store
I found two lovely looking veal chops in the for $19.00... I have only had a veal chop once in my life and that was several months ago and it cost me dear in the purse... I decided to give it a try
(OK if you are morally opposed to Veal, I completely understand, however I don't care to get into that discussion now... just skip the post)
ANYWAY....I also found some lovely fresh thin aparsagus
(OK if you are morally opposed to asparagus , I don't understand at all , however I don't care to get into that discussion now... just skip the post)
So I went home and did some experimental cooking.
(heaven fobid I should look in a cook book of which I seem to own several hundred)
It turned out that the Vixter had already decided to make her own dinner before I came home and wasn't hungry and the Vixdad had a late liunch and he wasn't hungry so I was cooking for one
I took the chops and put them in a littlle marinating tupperware thingie I own, and rubbed them with some Montreal Steak seasoning and poured a little sherry inthere and let it sit for about 90 minutes (inthe fridge)
then I heated up the grill , put a chop ina little metal roasting pan and popped it in the grill and closed the lid... then I washed and trimmed the asparugus, placed in on some aluminum foil, dizzeled a little olive oil on it and wrapped it up and plopped that on the grill.
about 5 miuntes later I truned the chop inteh pan, turned the aspargus tin over and gave it another 5 minutes or so
what a lovely dinner it was delicious... I am sure it went far beyond the diet liits I should be adhering to however I only had some fresh strawberries and blueberries for breakfast and a small spinach salad with fat free dressing for lunch
