I'm back from seeing a delightful show GREETINGS FROM YORKVILLE, which is essentially a review of songs performed by the writing couple Robert Grusecki (Music) and Anya Tucker (lyrics), with enough dialogue and some good staging to put the numbers into a story about their relationship. As performers, I like their musicianship, quirky and distinctive voices with great pitch and diction, and I wish this show well. DRJose and I were in an audience of no more than 25, and the theatre should be packed. I have their two albums, and I cannot recommend their writing and performances highly enough. A lot of the numbers are from the recordings but there are a couple of tasty items from their adaptation of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and I wish them and this show much good. If you can get to it, do.
