DR Jeanne - How was the concert? ;)

Sigh. My friend who had the tickets has a bad cough and I was a bit under the weather today myself, so we missed it. I had been looking forward to it. I think I'll have to keep the LACO on my radar, though.

Does the HHW page look funny or is it just me?

That doesn't look quite right, but you know what i mean:  is it a general issue or just on my Mac?

Everything looks normal on my Mac, Fred. Can we use "normal" and "HHW" in the same sentence (or thought)?

Thanks, Jeanne.

The words "Normal" and "HHW" can indeed be used in the same sentence:  HHW's bk is a dear friend of Next to Normal's Alice Ripley.

I hope that DR Danise will tell us HOW she got back into her house. I'm sure we are all very glad that she's home again.

Aw. :(

The LACO is a wonderful group, very worth keeping on your radar.

*And the host of their nationally syndicated radio broadcast, Alan Chapman, is also the composer of "Everybody Wants To Be Sondheim" which I believe Amanda McBroom and Guy Haines may have recorded at one time. ;)

I'm having some allergy problems.  I'm about to take a needed hot shower, and then I'll probably post the notes around ten.

Jose, was today your last performance?

Yes, it was. And my parents were able to make it today too. :) -I think it was the first time since my college graduation recital that they were able to hear and see me play piano.

It's alway good to take a shower after a travel day. Wash all of that travel grime off of you. -Which should help alleviate your allergies too.

Woooooohoooooooooooo.....midnight on the WEST COAST.

they may be perusing the notes....certainly FACEBOOK has been buzzing among them about Mr Kimmel's visit....all positive of course.

DR CP and I are relegated to the background as non-persons in the coverage.  As we read, that may have been DR CP's plan....

LOL....after the show, you couldn't get close to MR BK without a pair of good elbows....and/or a tight sweater.

They did indeed flock around Mr. Kimmel.  And they were all lovely people!  Sitting at the same table, I was able to have some nice conversations with several as BK could not engage them all at the same time.   And once again, speaking of lovely people, JRand and his pal, Evil Kurt, were charming guides and a great taxi service.  If I had had to tote BK and me around, we would have been lucky to make it to the theatre, let alone the afters gathering spot.  Thanks again, Jrand, for all your help and kindnesses.  Great to finally meet you.

It was a really terrific weekend!

And...

After I finished packing up at the theatre, and after a good round of hugs and till-we-meet-again's, I joined my parents for a nice steak dinner at some friends of theirs - who also came to the show today.  It was a very nice way to finish the day.

And now...

I am listening to a fabulous new cd, Maria Friedman Celebrates the Great British Songbook.  Wow!  A true highlight is a magnificent cover of Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Alone Again Naturally, " a stunning "White Cliffs of Dover" (with "Dido's Lament") runs that a close second.  Plus, any cover of "What Kind of Fool Am I?" only adds more pleasure.  And then to top it all off, there's "Diamonds are Forever."

I just got this on Friday!  I listened to it yesterday and really enjoyed it, also.  I bought the autographed copy. :D

It was indeed a great weekend - one I sorely needed.  And I keep thinking about Gold Star Chili and the Coney dogs.  Jrand and Evil Kurt were terrific and fun, and Evil Kurt is even going to try and arrange a book signing for me.

My parents are in the process of getting ready for their trip to the Philippines. They fly out tomorrow; I'll be driving them to the airport. My Dad is flying back for his 50th High School Reunion!  *Last year's trip was for my Mom's high school reunion (among other things).  Alas, Monkey and I are not making the trip this year.

I'm going through and adding some of my CDs to my castalbumcollector.com collection list, and I just added a recording of Moby Dick, which features a former DR! :)
