Topic of the Day:  that would be great!

BK, I loved the Kritzerland backstage show very much, and I like your idea.

DR singdaw, which version of Emma were you watching? I think my favorite remains the Kate Beckinsale/BBC adaptation, although the longer Johnny Lee Miller version is really good, perfect if Romola Garai did not seem too often to be in the 21st century rather than the 19th.  My least favorite, Gwyneth Paltrow's too-pretty, too-slick, too-Hollywood adaptation, has its moments, but to me it's nearly as poor as the MGM Pride and Prejudice with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier.

Today's excitement is a visit from my fifth floor neighbors Ann and Jen, who are coming down to climb the Big Ladder and change my kitchen lightbulbs.

We did not watch Close Encounters last night, so it will be tomorrow night's video.  I ended up reading a bit and watching Anderson Cooper and Chris Cuomo on CNN. They interviewed several Trumpers at yesterday's Macon, Georgia, rally. Dumber than a box of rocks, they all seemed to be out of central casting for a Deliverance remake.  Cue the banjos!

I've finished kitty cleanup, made the bed, and pulled out the Big Ladder.

Once the kitties are caught and fixed and brought home, they have a small clip taken out of their ears so that they can be identified as such.

DR elmore3003 - the version with Romola Garai is the one that popped up, and the one we're watching. Interesting comments from you about the other versions.

There's so much that's good, but I wish I liked Garai more - she's better as Cordelia in King Lear - but I really like most of the cast. Jonny Lee Miller is a good Mr Knightley, but he sure doesn't look to be 16 years older than Emma!  It's almost as good as the Colin Firth Pride and Prejudice.  I wish my favorite version of Emma with Kate Beckinsale were 30 minutes longer, because things get rushed to finish on time.  The last film version from last year is really interesting, as it pushes the overworked servants and the idle rich, and the comedienne Miranda Hart is amazing as Miss Bates.

The cats are going berserk this morning.  ERKS (Exceedingly Rambunctious Kitty Syndrome) hath them in thrall, and I keep hearing items, most likely books and DVDs, falling behind my back.

One last thought on the Romola Garai Emma: I love Michael Gambon as Mr Woodhouse! Every adaptation, except for the Paltrow, casts a wonderful British star in the role.  I don't even remember Mr Woodhouse in the Paltrow film.

I have similar feelings about Family Plot as BK. I didn’t care for it when I first saw it, but I watched it after Barbara Harris died and her performance is practically perfect, as Ms. Poppins would say.

My favorite version of Emma is Clueless.

It's truly brilliant. Every time I watch it, I remain amazed that someone thought of such a thing.

I loved Family Plot when I first saw it, and my opinion has not changed.  I'm also very fond of Frenzy.  I should drag them out.

I like the idea of the interview shows. I miss the theme interview shows that Merv and Cavett used to do. Give yourself time to explore a topic.

Two of his I don’t own that I want. Vertigo and The Trouble with Harry are two others. Actually there are many.
