A big line of thunderstorms is currently moving through the DC area... Lots of red patches on that radar maps.

We just had a huge hail storm out of the blue---while the sun was shining. It poured for about 10 minutes and then a rainbow appeared right in the front yard of the place I'm working today. Usually when you see them they look far away but this one was touching down right in front of us. No pot of gold, though....   :-\

(Singing)  Look, look, look to the rainbow!

Well... I'm planning on heading down to Richmond tonight.  Steve is having some oral surgery tomorrow morning, and since I have to head down anyway to dig my passport of my storage unit, I figured I might as well play chauffeur while I'm down there.

So... Until Richmond...

So how many performances is THE LAST STARFIGHTER and where are they?  And what's going on?  I missed something.

I'm up, I'm up.  Shall get my bearings and then do my walk, if my poor feet can take it.
Oh, poor baby.

I just spent eight hours pounding hard pavement wrangling shopping carts.  But do you hear me complain?  Do you hear me even making one little peep?

OK, this post counts as a little peep.  But do you hear me complaining?

OK, this post means I'm complaining.

But if you hadn't complained about your poor feet, I wouldn't have even peeped!

Hmmm perfect plays or musicals....
...I guess my most perfect movie would be LOST HORIZON, casting, settings, music, and story....

Ah, yes, who can ever forget Liv Ullmann, Peter Finch, Olivia Hussey, all singing, all dancing, all dubbed.   ;D

Holbrook and Reynolds wrote songs?

der Brucer
You do NOT want to know any of the lyrics.

They wrote them during breaks in filming Evening Shade.

Back from a nice rehearsal - as promised, I took it a little easy and my voice therefore isn't nearly as tired tonight.  Stopped and got some pizza to take home.  And - in BIG news, I'm moving rooms again - the new room, while I wouldn't call it "large" is much nicer and a bit bigger and I'm very happy.

That's great news about the room, BK!  It's always nice to have a happy hotel experience.  When my sister, niece and I went to London (the one and only time I've been), we were at a hotel that was not very nice.  Downstairs in the lobby, there were always several people who worked at the place smoking and we had to walk up through the layer of cigarette smoke to get to our room. :P

And the room itself was freaky.  There were two beds on the main level and then a built-in ladder up to a loft with one bed, but the loft area was probably only four feet tall!  I climbed up there with out much problem, but I couldn't even sit up without hitting my head on the ceiling!

And then they had what was called a "toilet en suite," which was a prefab closet-like bathroom structure that had a toilet, sink and shower area.  But the sink was right at the door, and you really couldn't shut the door if you wanted to stand in front of the sink...AND the darn shower drained so slowly, that it practically filled up the whole floor area with shower water! :o Fortunately, the floor area of the "toilet en suite" had a lip high enough that it never overflowed into the room.  We wanted to leave that first night, but had to stay two nights because of the contract had a minimum-night-stay clause.

Here in Olympia, my sister's boyfriend found another place on-line, phoned her with the info and we headed out and went to a very nice hotel that had what I think of as Ikea-inspired furniture (my sister LOVES Ikea ;)).  The rest of the trip was otherwise a great experience because we were able to get out of that first hotel. ;D

I had a splendidly splendid tw0-and-a-half hour luncheon with Mr Rodney Gilfry who is dazzlingly handsome in person and an absolute delight.  We dished those we knew in common and trashed our enemies.  The chicken salad at Cafe Fiorello was also superb.

Who would remember to eat lunch?

In the new room - still fairly tiny as rooms go, but a big step up.  This room has a computer and printer in it - not that I need it.

Matt H- We didn’t care for Craig Bierko's character on BOSTON LEGAL.  We think the new female character, Constance Zimmer, is a great addition to the cast, just what the show needs.

George-thanks for the info on Meredith Eaton.  She was a riot.

I just heard that one of the episodes of "Scrubs" next season will be a musical, written by the writer/composers from "Avenue Q". *That* should be interesting!

Congrats on your slightly-larger room, bk!
