I am listening to a really annoying CD - I do hope it gets better after the first cut.  My first exposure to someone named David Axelrod.  From the description, it sounded like something I'd like, but as I keep finding out, those who write these descriptions are nitwits.

I really wish this production meeting had occurred yesterday.  There must be someting happening around here because all parking near my house has been taken.

This David Axelrod, who has been in the industry for over forty years?

TV Reminder:

JOHN ADAMS (Episode 3) tonight. Looking forward to it. Glad HBO is only going to run these once a week, however. Two in a row was a little much last Sunday.

I really enjoyed watching episodes 1 and 2 on the free preview.  It reminds me why I've always had HBO.  I'm reconsidering adding it back into my cable package

And now, with an assist from David Zippel, here are the three us together.  -And if you're wondering - or just being snarky ;-) - Yes, I did have a cocktail - just one! - with my Coconut Pineapple Cake (they only serve desserts at The Metropolitan Room).  However, I also found myself tearing up a few times throughout the evening... Especially after Amanda's introduction to "The Rose...

These are nice pictures, DR Jose, but why didn't we get a picture of David Zippel? I love him!

Skip had a lovely lovely time working with Ed Harris and Amy Madigan [mentioned in BK's notes] in winter 2005 (when they performed a one-act musical Skip wrote with Eduardo Machado).  They are the nicest people; i got to meet them at the after-party, and they even stepped out of the party for a while to meet Toby and Dylan.

Oh ! I'm very jealous. I adore both of them....oh I really like Ed Harris and Amy Madigan too  ;)

I began my Easter afternoon viewing with another NUMB3RS episode. This one dealt with efforts to locate a sunken $10 million skiff. Just an OK episode, not terrifically exciting and not much mystery to it.

I spent most of the afternoon with THERE WILL BE BLOOD. An interesting character study, not nearly as violent as I thought it would be (the R rating said "for some violence" so I should have taken a clue from that). Could have been shorter, I think, but it was reasonably entertaining.

Daniel Day-Lewis is commanding, but honestly, I thought he was channeling John Huston's speech patterns throughout the entire movie. No, I wouldn't have given him the Best Actor Oscar for this (I certainly would for some previous performances that he lost for - IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, for one - , but not for this.)

There wasn't a hint of a bonus feature on the first disc, not even previews for upcoming Paramount releases. So all of the bonuses will be on the second disc.

On the topic of Fellini films (back on page one).

My favorite is LA STRADA. He's done many great ones, but I always return to it with great enjoyment. I find it deeply affecting.

Now, I'm going to write for a little while, and then I must head down and clean the guest bath, put away the washed, dried, and folded laundry, and then get back to the bonus features on THERE WILL BE BLOOD and tonight's JOHN ADAMS.

A busy night ahead!

PRESENTING

Was that David Hodo's Easter Basket, or Victor Willis'?

DR FJL didn't Skip's HERRINGBONE have a production in Indianapolis some time ago?  Or am I thinking of a different show?

In the NOT NEWS Department:  The charms of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS still escape me.

Kelly at his pretentious worst and his ego gone wild with some really dumb dances to some really great music.
