I am pleased to see that DR Ron is all settled in back in his abode, over his Trying Travel Adventure, and feeling that Life Is Good.

DR Ron is none too unhappy about that, either!

"Drawn"?  Are you a comic book figure?

Maybe DR TD is just a phantom.

It's time to fire up my electric grill....gotta put on some long pants for that one.  It's cold on the balcony!

So... My parents just got back from a New Year's Eve Eve party that some of their new neighbors held tonight.  At the party, they heard about all these cool places to go to in Richmond.  Of course, I've been telling them about all those same cool places for while - and even during the past week and a half.  ;)

Well, it looks I'll be taking them around Richmond tomorrow to check out some of these "cool places".  I guess I should check to make sure everything is open tomorrow before we head out.

That doesn't make sense to me...what's the reason?  :-\

Between my shoulder and this stupid pneumonia, I have used up all my sick leave.  I have been on leave without pay for the past week.  In order for salaried employees to be paid for a holiday, they can't have leave without pay on the day before or the day after a holiday.

If you just show up, will that fill the bill or do you have to stick around all day?

Quote
Now to watch some more movies...just finished GUYS AND DOLLS...somehow in my 40 something years of watching movie musicals this movie has escaped my notice. Correcting this injustice, Don, our mailroom guy at work, loaned me his DVD of what is his all time favorite film.

Very fun movie and it was most enjoyable to spot my interviewee Lynnette Bernay as one of "The Goldwyn Girls" in several of the musical numbers.

Oh, DR MBarnum!
Now that you've seen GUYS AND DOLLS, you need to see BLOODHOUNDS OF BROADWAY with Scott Brady, Scott Brady's pecs, Scott Brady's forearms and a little, lithe dancer/singer named Mitzi Gaynor.

I watched two more episodes of ROB & BIG and will be done with it for a few days. No hurry about finishing the episodes. I know for certain I'll have THE NAKED PREY to watch tomorrow and who knows what else might come in?

Next, I watched THE TWO JAKES. Yep, just as plodding as I remembered it to be, and I think it could have been a lot more exciting with a better director and a faster pace. Yes, I know it was happening in 1948, but that wasn't the ICE AGE. You know, everything moving at a glacial pace!

And a great cast, too. Loved seeing the familiar faces from CHINATOWN all those years later.

I also watched the featurette on the disc, the interview with Jack Nicholson about making the movie. I really did not remember that there was originally a trilogy planned and the third one was to be GITTES VS. GITTES.

I had 80 minutes left in the evening. None of the Christmas movies I got for gifts were less than that, so I pulled SHERLOCK HOMES AND THE VOICE OF TERROR off the shelf. Haven't watched this first Universal Holmes movie in quite some time, and it's SO much fun. Evelyn Ankers was quite lovely in the movie, and I always like Reginald Denny and Henry Daniell in films.
