Question: With regard to the airing of GREASE last night, if the rain hadn't stopped, did they have a "Plan B"?
Grease was live on the East Coast.
I am curious, there was a very bad sound problem during "Hopeless Devoted To You". IT wasn't with the actual singing. But there was a really bad static while she was singing. Were they able to fix this for the West Coast? I was really disappointed that they couldn't get rid of it at any point during the song.
Who put the "ape" in "apricot?"
I know Mario Lopez had a part in the proceedings as an actor, but his appearances backstage...with microphone and him in a suit...brought to mind his most recent commercial....the one for "toenail fungus".
Cheesy.
That as said - my DVR failed to record "Grease LIVE" AND last night's Downton Abbey. I'll be looking for the on-demand of "Grease LIVE" and looking forward to my download of Downton from the iTunes.
Holy moley.
DR Elmore, King of the Invoices.
My hat is off to you, sir.

Downton should be on pbs.org today and for the next week.

Ar one point, during the dance-off in the gym, the sound went off for about 15 seconds.

Oh god no way!!!
Since I retired from my job and had to turn the laptop back in, I have not had a computer with Office or Word or anything. I finally got my new computer back with all the stuff I want installed. Mostly. Now I just have to get used to a new keyboard and the awful touch pad (or whatever you call it) that allows the cursor to move around. I don't know about this.

Brie? Cheddar? Or something with a noxious odor?

She Loves Me
But then again, I like to see my favorite musical done in any way, at any time.
After watching The Sound of Music LIVE! with its relentless commercial breaks, I wouldn't wish any musical I loved a broadcast on the commercial networks. I remember the good old days of the Public Theatre broadcast of Much Ado About Nothing in the early 1970s where the Xweox commercials were shown only at the act breaks.

Yes that happened too. But the bad static during the entire "Hopelessly Devoted To You" was really bad on the East Coast. Completely ruined the song for me.
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Kerry!! :DThank you, George!

DR Laura - you can always buy a stand-alone wireless mouse, even if your laptop didn't come with one. I hate using trackpads.

I watched that part, but I must not have been paying too much attention because I didn't notice anything wrong.
I'm trying to watch the Grease Live thing, but the computer keeps freezing, usually right after a commercial.
Who is the blond gal singing the opening number?
The Man from Philadelphia strikes again. Today I received a 2015 1099 form for $3050 from the foundation. Curiously, the foundation paid me nothing last year. They did pay me $3050 on July 9, 2014, but i never received a 1099 from the foundation in 2014.
I am not paying taxes on this money twice and i paid it last year. Just when you think you are out of danger, here he comes again.
Sage advice from DR FJL.

Yes definitely use a wireless mouse. So much better.
Larry, we see this a lot, that people get a 1099 for income they paid taxes on in an earlier year. Do you do a schedule C? If so, rather than leaving out the income, your CPA may want to include it in gross receipts, and just put on an additional deduction item and call it "2015 1099-MISC received for income reported in 2014" or some variation on that.
(Of course, you need to verify that it actually was reported in 2014, since your accountant may not have known to count it in 2014 with no 1099 that year.)

Caucuses over. Whew! Once again I hate the Republican winner. Still hoping Bernie pulls it off. With 22 percent of the vote left to count, Hillary is only 0.5 percent ahead
I always declare everything.
Looks like DR Cillaliz's "weather guy" is partially right. Southern MN (and IA) will get some snow on Feb 2. ;D

Hugs to Vixmom. May the rest go as smoothly as possible.

I guess I'm the dissenter here. When I bought my Macbook I was used to a mouse and didn't expect to like the trackpad, so I bought a new mouse. As it happens, I took to the trackpad right away and never use the mouse. I will say I find the mouse faster, but I often have the Mac in my lap and then the trackpad is much more convenient.

I think it depends on the lap top. I loved the track pad on one of my older computers. This one, not so much
Don't know the final total, but with 94% counted it's Clinton 49.9% and Sanders 49.6% Pretty amazing when you think no one here even knew who he was 9 months ago
Yes, this episode of Downton was a bit of a shocker. Other than that, no spoilers.
DR John G, your weekend sounds lovely. I often find that a few days away does wonders.
Tomorrow night is Joshua Bell in concert. I saw him 20+ years ago when he was a wunderkind performer. It'll be interesting to see and hear how he is now that he's more mature.
I liked what I saw of "Grease" last night.
I thought it MUCH better than that made-for-TV mess from a number of years back that followed the auditons/eliminations process week after week.
The sets were cool, the music pretty well done (not always miked effectively). The vocals were good and the copycat performances were "expected" by the audience, I'm guessing. I don't hate Julieanne Hough and was happy to hear that she has more than just the helium voice she uses on DWTS. I thought her voice quite adequate for Sandy.
I'm not raving about it, but it was -- from what I saw in bits and pieces -- better than recent stuff done elsewhere on TV. LOVED RIZZO!!!!!!

Me too. Rizzo was fantastic!
George dear, may I impose (once again). This must be getting old

There is so much viciousness in politics today. And it doesn't end on election day.
There is a possibility that this show may be taped for educational purposes.
