POMEGRANATE DREAMS
« on: April 04, 2014, 12:03:18 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of pomegranates and were dreamy, and now it is time for you to post until the dreamy cows come home.

Friday morning greetings and apologies for not logging out last night!  We are up early because we have a 10:20am flight to Cincinnati.

Still rainy and damp here.

It was in the mid-60s yesterday and today it's 43 with wet, drizzly rain!

I saw Casa Valentina last night. It's Harvey Fierstein's new play about a group of men in 1962 who go up to a resort in the Catskills to live for weekends as transvestites. It's based on true events. The men are not gay and they are not drag queens. I do think one of them is questioning his gender identity but they all identify as heterosexual men who happen to enjoy dressing as women, like Eddie Izzard. There is discussion of "homosexuals" and how "we can't let them into our group" because they are "sick" and need help. It's a funny piece but it touches, especially in the second act, on very serious topics. I enjoyed it very much. It's a strong piece with some very good performances.

I'm glad George posted a picture of the magnet as I didn't realize there was one. The keychain was attach to the outside of the package. I pulled the book out not realizing the magnet was there. I depend on the magnets to keep my doctor appointment cards on my fridge.

We did not have quite a foot of snow last night, but it's still coming down, so anything is possible.

Apparently snow in May here is not unheard of.

I remember when I was at University. It was winter. I went to bed one late April evening. There was no snow and the weather was beautiful. I looked out of my dorm room window and saw the Mississippi River and thought "all is good" I woke up the next morning to inches of snow. I wanted to open my dorm room window and jump out from the 10th floor!

EDIT: I didn't write about it in my review, only mentioned it in a post here, so all is well!   8)

Today is supposed to bring high winds, hail, and possible tornadoes to my neighborhood.  We shall see what happens.
