Today DR Kate, her hubby and I are going to their son's for dinner.  They're especially happy this year since my nephew and his wife just announced they're expecting a little one in July.

Please send my congratulations to Kate and tell her she is missed here.

Britten's "Ceremony of Carols" is playing and the apartment is warm. Of course, it's a warm Manhattan day, so that only adds to the heat.

I will call Randy and Jo around 11.  Before then I'll open my cards and the one package I received from our DR Ginny.

There's a typhoon hitting the Philippines today. From looking at the map, my daughter-in-law's parents are ok. But she has lots of extended family. I hope they are all ok.

I can't get the Associated Press Stylebook's spelling of Hanukkah out of my fingers. I must type it that way.

The recording I worked on for the Jewish Milken Archive frops the "h."

Christmas morning greetings!  Richard and I have had our breakfast and the upstairs Palmers are at church.  When they return we'll open our stockings and have duck l'orange for dinner.  Paramedic Rob goes into work at 4 and Richard and I will visit Mom.

Because of their church commitment today and Rob's work schedule, we opened presents with them last night.  Fr. Richard and I had a smooth trip to Lima and back and he decreed that we had fulfilled our worship obligations, so we're relaxing this morning with mimosas and the newspapers.
