Waiting for the City inspector to arrive to check out the electrical work that was done. Between noon and 3 pm, but they didn't notify the manager until 8:25 this morning to tell us that, which, of course, left us in limbo. I have things here I could do, but I can't concentrate properly knowing that he could arrive any minute. I feel my day has been mostly wasted.

One of the books I’m listening to is Italo Calvino’s postmodern “If on a winter’s night a traveler.” On the way back from the doctor, one if characters who is a writer (and there are many) says he keeps a poster over his desk of Snoopy writing “It was a dark and stormy night.”

So, maybe it wasn’t Bulwar-Lytton after all.

Oh, and this writer likes the “dark and stormy” intro because it doesn’t promise too much too soon. Whether Calvino thought the same is beyond me, except to say he grabbed me by the ear from the first. And now, more than two-thirds of the way through, I’m still thrilled.

I have been thinking why PT would have someone walking after surgery for a broken ankle. I suppose if it is ok to walk in the cast or boot, not sure what TCB has, it would be to make sure he can balance and actually walk. Under the circumstances I can think of so many things she could have discussed with him, vs show let me see you walk.

We have three large windows that need the seal at the bottom replaced. This will require the window people to pull out the windows, remove the old glaze, return the windows and re-seal them.

If only they could have done this last week before the temps dropped. It is going to be very cold in here tomorrow morning.
