I had a very nice, restful sleep last night.
I was sorry to read about DR JohnG's experience.
I had a similar experience many years ago. I think it was 1996. I hadn't had anything bad to eat. I got up from bed to go to the bathroom and suddenly found myself face down on the floor as my muscles spasmed. I cracked a few ribs, I did, so I must have fallen flat on my chest. I guess I wasn't fully awake, but I did black out or fall asleep until the rude awakening.
I had to go to work the next day as it was "Bring Your Daughter to Work Day" and one of my people was in charge and I had duties to perform. Those duties were to bring in Orange Juice and doughnots for the morning, and then to pick up pizzas for lunch.
I was in a lot of pain, but I got all done and left work right after pizzas were delivered. Went to the doctor, got x-ays and then received some very wonderful, wondrous, beautiful meds: Some for after work and some FOR work.
The after work meds were delightful, as I recall. I remember I had gotten two CDs in the mail that same day. One was an expanded "Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind" and the other was Michel Legrand's "The Thomas Crown Affair". I sat cross-legged ina stuffed chair and listened to both CDs twice. I remember being amazed and awed by both of them.
Such are the vagaries of wonderful pain killers.
(i also know the dangers and never abused them).
