Listening to Christian Bale.  My, my, my.  I think we need a YouTube LuPone/Bale medley.  :)

Which Freddie Hubbard, BK?  I keep hoping they'll release High Energy, his first Columbia LP.

I'm heading down now to check the mail and then some tidying up of the house (I already cleaned the living room this morning) before beginning to cook lunch.

Beware the copies of Teddy Bear from eBay and elsewhere - they're horrid quality.

Happiest of birthdays to DR Edi!

Thanks, Ginny! Good luck with your furnace!

We just had a bit of good luck, sort of. We were coming back home from the vet and the water meter inspector was at a nearby house. Our water bill was 3x the usual amount last month and the city wouldn't even come over and look at it. You have to have a special tool to even open the cover now. So this guy opened it up and helped us figure out the problem. We will probably have to replace a big water line, but at least we know what we're dealing with and we have other plumbing jobs that need doing, so maybe we'll be able to get them all taken care of.

Between that and the fact that our vet recommended that we see a specialist about my love cat, Bailey, who may possibly need surgery, I'm glad we didn't decide to celebrate our birthdays in an expensive way!

I'm glad to know Christian Bale is an intense individual who doesn't find everything wunnerful-wunnerful.

This latest "expose" by ill-intentioned persons does nothing more than show a man intent on doing his best and reacting to idiotic missteps by a "supposed" professional.

No, not even remotely.

I think the message was adequately delivered after about the 17th f-bomb, personally.  ;)

I understand that winter made a brief appearance in the Bay Area while I was away in South Carolina at the end of December.

That's where we lost our "winter magic," I fear, and we've just GOT to get it back!

Oh, I don't know.  Sometimes, nothing is more effective -- or makes you feel quite so good -- as 20 or 25 F-bombs!

Mmmm. Pancakes.

I thought it must be a good day of tips for the servers; however, our favorite Denny's server, Mary, said many people weren't tipping. How very very sad.

We had dinner at our local BBQ place last night (Fat Matt's Rib Shack, mentioned recently by DR Jose). Live music, with more people in the band than there were diners. The other table ignored the band and didn't even appluad! They play for tips only, so we tipped them 10 bucks. I guess they must enjoy doing it because they're certainly not in it for the $$!

TODAY IN THEATRE HISTORY...

One of my favorites (and probably not yours), Nathan Lane, was born today in 1956 in Jersey City, NJ.

No, not mine.  Not after his ridiculous comments on the Today Show about the "Brokeback Mountain" line "I wish I could quit you."  He had a high old time giggling and ridiculing it.  I'll never respect him -- or watch his work -- again.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Vixmom. Give the bell an extra ring for me!

I love that bell -  the other day Vixter didn't answer right away so I didn't know if she heard me (she was upstairs) so I banged on it a couple of more times.

She came down and said" I heard you!  You didn't have to shout!!"
