I do understand and respect that point of view but so many times the applause stops a line or a piece of business that I want to see or hear. It's a puzzlement. It's certainly good to be recognized and appreciated for your work but to me it's more of the theatre in your living room kind of behavior.

Just my 2 cents on the subject.

Hell, on her never-ending road shows of Dolly, Carol WAITS for it!

Sadly, the same story.  The link I found has a few more details, which some may prefer to pass on-it is so very sad.

At the final performance of A Light in the Piazza, the entrance applause started for Victoria Clark when she first became visible to the audience and only died down after she had started to sing...which was probably more than a full minute.  Granted, special circumstances, with the audience wanting to show their support for her and for the show, but still...    :-\

I think it was her claque. She must have  paid for it; I don't think she deserved any of it except in her imagination.

That didn't work.  Is this the story? http://www.bradenton.com/280/story/88228.html

I keep hoping it isn't.

Yes, I'm afraid it is.

HHW is ahead of the pack once again.  Just a week AFTER an HHW trivia question (answered recently, not the current trivia question) featured the 1967 little-known musical A HAND IS ON THE GATE - which featured Roscoe Lee Browne, James Earl Jones, Cicely Tyson, among celebrated others - guess what show is being discussed on All That Chat!  Might it be someone who lurks here? :)   Or just a coincidence:

This link is a bigger dud than an Edsel.

Sorry. try Jane's or Der B's. Actually, don't. You're already having a bad enough day. Thank you for your vibes. We will just keep hoping.

There are no coincidences.

I watched THE BIG CUBE and was amazed.....all of the clothes for Lana and the girl who played her daughter....seemed like VALLEY OF THE DOLLS rejects and retreads.

bk, I know nothing about Michael Cassara, except that he was extremely kind and generous in helping me locate some out of print music for the memorial service when my father passed away.

I'm here (the Phantom of the Opera...!)

I had a wonderful week visiting with all the loverly HHW contingent here in the Big Snapple and, I dare say, was spoiled to bits. I'm very appreciative...

I hope you're all well...I'll do what I can to come by every now and again to say hello...!

Hey, Jane! Hi, singdaw!

I am a little bit smaller than I used to be...but I'm afraid that DRs MusicGuy and Jose were hellbent on fattening me up again. ;-) Not true, but I still blame Jose.

DR Jrand...I don't think it was any fun dealing with MTI when I WAS there, but I might be a little jaded. ;-)

I am glad to see they were able to convince you to get your buttcheeks back here.

(Everyone is shocked when I type buttcheeks.)
