MBarnum - are you already here in LA?

MusicGuy - what about you?

And BrettySpaghetti - will you be joining out dining extravaganza tomorrow?  If so, do we need to bump the reservation up to 7?  Or will we just have to be the Magnificent 6 without you...?

For those of you curious about who this guy is, here's the caption next to the picture on the website I was led to after searching for images under the parameters of "Musso Frank" on Yahoo:

Big Frank Musso  , my grandfather from Thibodaux, Louisiana, was one of those individuals people never forget. A big man, he was dwarfed only by the size of his heart and the impact he left. He was a volunteer fireman for over 60 years, served as President of the Louisiana State Fireman's Association and had a remarkable career in law enforcement at both the state and local level. He made me laugh every single time I was with him and is the biggest influence on my own sense of humor. But his humor is only a fraction of the tremendous contributions he gave to me; he touched every single part of my life.

So, here's to Big Frank -- a man with a good sense of humor, and who I hope will symbolize the fun and good senses of humor that will be present tomorrow.

MusicGuy and MBarnum are in town, and Bretty is joining us - there will be six total, I believe - or is it seven?  Me, Miss Patti, you, your mum, MusicGuy, MBarnum, and Bretty - ah seven - ah so.

Joseph Musso, from Portland, Oregon, fouinded the restaurant in 1919; John Mosso bought it in 1926.

Another LA restauranteur had Murphy-like roots:

Quote
Cobb, of Irish ancestry, came from a Western background with his father being a sheriff and hotel manager in Hardin, Montana.  His father ran a hotel, a train depot, and a number of bars.  His mother would hold a cowboy hoedown on a regular basis.  His parents were the proprietors of the only bathtub in the area and would rent it out for 25 cents a bath.

Is this how the Murphy fortune was started?
