It's 35 degrees here. How great, I didn't even wear a coat when I was out today.  I'm hoping the current weather system stays on track. The snow and blizzards are supposed to go east of here and that's fine.

Didn't do the TOD yet either.

George Kennedy: CHARADE, COOL HAND LUKE, AIRPORT and AIRPORT 1975.

Peter Falk: THE GREAT RACE, ROBIN AND THE SEVEN HOODS, obviously COLUMBO.

I'm afraid I am not a fan of Ernest Borgnine at all. He's fine in supporting roles in FROM HERE TO ETERNITY or JOHNNY GUITAR, but once he became a star, I found him unappealing.

I finished watching PRIDE & PREJUDICE on HD-DVD as I cooked and ate lunch. Had the same effect on me that it usually does: tear-induced joy and pleasure.

I put in the DVD of FLAMINGO ROAD in order to watch the bonus feature "Crawford at Warners." It's an OK overview of her years under contract at the studio with Richard Barrios, Jeannie Basinger, and Molly Haskell all weighing in on her career there.

Then I watched the first twenty minutes of FLAMINGO ROAD. Looks remarkably restored and a hundred per cent superior to the laserdisc. So far, I'm very pleased with the image quality of it.

Saturday evening greetings!  I spent the morning having my hair permed and the afternoon with DH Richard, seeing National Treasure: Book of Secrets and eating at Culver's (burgers & frozen custard).  The movie was just what the newspaper said it would be - dumb fun.

This morning I went for a walk. It was very wet and drippy from yesterday's rain. This is what I saw:

MattH, I have seen JAKERS before. A freind of mine's little girl is a big fan of the show. I was helping out one day and was babysitting and we watched the show together. It is a sweet show. I even liked it.

The berries are nice to use in arrangements---they keep their color for a long time.

I looked it up and this made me laugh:
Nandina Megalomania or Hitler Bamboo for its unbridled aggression toward other plants, its propensity to conquer the entire yard without provocation, and its seeming immortality.

My DH hates it for all those reasons, but I've always liked it. I just cut a bunch of it back yesterday---it had gotten very leggy and spindly-looking.

I just downloaded an episode of LOU GRANT from itunes.

Now what do I do with it? I mean, how does one watch it? I expected some sort of player to pop up when I clicked on the show, but nada...

Help?

Or perhaps something that grows like crazy in Georgia can just barely survive the summers of Arizona.

DR Edi - do you have to have a video iPod?  I know our DS Rob watches episodes that way, either on the iPod itself or by hooking it up to his TV.  I'll ask him tomorrow if you have to have the iPod or if you can watch them on your computer.

Good Evening!

I'm back from day of "cultcha"...

MoMA was fun and interesting and fun and interesting.  There's an exhibition of Modern Art from 1970's to today.  That was interesting part.  I'm still puzzled and amazed at the one piece of art/installation that consists of a string of 60-watt light bulbs plugged into the wall of the museum.  And then there's the video "installation" that consists of a seven VHS tapes - one for each day of the week - a TV, and a TV stand.  Each day, a different tape is put in the VCR, and the image on the screen is the day of week - which is on a constant loop.  So, today's Art was "Saturday".  -I just have to wonder if the "Tuesday" tape ever gets used since the MoMA is closed on Tuesdays? ;)

DR edisaurus - As for my espresso maker - I have a Krups model from about four or five years ago.  Nothing fancy, it just makes espresso and has a frothing wand for making cappuccinos.  However, the classic, tried-and-true Italian stove top makers are very easy to use, and make a great demitasse of espresso.

*Illy has been advertising their new top-of-the-line machine lately.  And from all accounts, it seems to be worth it's $799.99 price tag.  ;)
