Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of cereal killers, and now it is time for you to post until the Kellogg's cows come home.

TOD:

No idea what I will watch this weekend.  No new DVDs have arrived, but I'm recording 3 old Edward G. Robinson flicks off of TCM, so I may watch some of those.

The packaging for Frosted Flakes has changed over the years.  They used to be SUGAR Frosted Flakes of corn.  Then they were billed as Sugar FROSTED Flakes of corn.  Then they were sugar FROSTED FLAKES of Corn.  Now I think they're called FROSTED FLAKES OF CORN as sugar has become more verboten.

Good morning, all.

And somebody serve me a bowl of Sugar Frosted Flakes, please. I haven't had that in decades, but I loved it and Captain Crunch when I was a kid. Yum, sugar high so early in the day.

That cereal box with a gun on it would get a kid suspended from school today.

Good morning, all! I'm not quite awake yet but I had a huge dream that Rob Berman and i were doing benefit concerts of ROBERTA in New York and Connecticut for Goodspeed and all of the NYC and Dublin casts were performing. It was a neat dream.

This morning, I have several errands to run: City Center, the pharmacy, the market. Then it's back to the last Paint Your Wagon numbers.

Well, I tried reading Grand Hotel by Vicki Baum. I really did. I slogged through about 100 pages and I've decided not to finish. It's a tedious read (for me) and if it hasn't grabbed me by 100 pages I don't think the next 158 pages will pull me in. I know and greatly enjoy both the movie and the musical but this book just doesn't work for me. There are pages and pages and pages of excruciating detail which add nothing (IMHO) to the story. It just drags on and it's taken me over a week to get through the 100 pages that I have read. I'm glad that someone at MGM realized the potential for the movie but if I had read this book in 1929 or 1930 I would have said no go.

It's on to John O'Hara and Pal Joey. I have to go to WorldCat and ILLIAD and order the book and then wait for it to work through the Interloan process so it will be a while.

Today I must do some work at the keyboard, setting up and running through a few things for the holiday concerts, and tonight I will be attending the local NUTCRACKER.

TOD, Part the First --

Some Vincent Price horror films on the Blu-ray.  So seasonal!

TOD, Part the Second --

Sugar Frosted Flakes, for sure, probably my all time favorite.  But I liked many others as well, including the non-sugared ones, as long as I dumped enough sugar on them.

It's odd, but both my sister and I grew up hating milk, too.  But it was made for cereal, and that was probably how I got most of my milk intake as a young-un.

Yup. I hate books like that. I have too great a tendency to finish them, however. I need to learn that 100-page guideline and stick to it.

Friday morning greetings!  My horoscope in today's paper says "...there's a swirl of chaos around you now."

That's an understatement.

A nice young man named Brandon was here at 9am to do the measurements for our new countertops.  Before he arrived we had to clear everything from the kitchen surfaces, so our dining room was strewn with appliances, etc.  We discussed some design issues and he did a detailed drawing and took a lot of pictures.  I've decided only to put back what we absolutely need for the next week, because the installation is scheduled for 9am a week from Monday.

Meanwhile, the arrangements for Mom's move are progressing and I have to go this afternoon to fill her in on the details.  My sister and her husband and their daughter will arrive Sunday.  Mom and I share the same horoscope and she has no idea the kind of chaos that will be swirling around her early next week.

Swirl of chaos -- sounds like a Viennese waltz step.

May you dance gracefully through the swirl, Ginny.

What I learned from reading Jimmie Walker's autobiography DYN-O-MITE:

The producers wanted Ralph Carter to play the youngest son, Michael, but he had a long term contract with the Broadway musical RAISIN - so they cast another young actor who worked right up until the day they taped they pilot....and then was released:

Laurence Fishburne
