TOD:

My first mall visit was The Village in the town where I know live. I was visiting my cousin Carol.  I thought it was just the greatest place ever.  All outdoors.....but about a dozen shops and stores....

Later I worked in the Ben Franklin Store in The Village for many years - it was great fun.

There were many malls that opened in Indianapolis during my high school years including Lafayette Square, Washington Square, and a few others.  They are now mostly ghost towns or centers of gang activity.

The Downtown Mall - Circle Centre - is particularly bad.

The Greenwood Mall was open air for many years and then enclosed itself which was weird.

Now we have Metropolis in nearby Plainfield which is an open air mall that says it's the latest and greatest thing.

My favorite - after The Village - was Greenwood Park....

that would have to be the one in edmonton about 30 years ago. It had roller coasters, car dealerships and every type and genre of store in their day.

when the Vixter was a toddler the Vixfamily spent a couple of days at the mall, after a visit with Vixdad's folks before we headed back to the US of A, we swam and rode the slides at the water park, played at the amusement park, watched the dolphin show, visited the penguins,  took a submarine ride,  ate at the restaurants, played minature golf,  skated at the ice skating rink and slept on the Roman floor of the hotel

I have lived in the Twin Cities for over a year now, and I still have not been to the Mall of America - the biggest mall in the USA. Probably with its own zip code, even. And more additions are currently being constructed. It currently has 4.2 million square feet of space.

Well, Bryn just made this good album really really good with his calypso "Mary's Boy Child."  I have to see who did the chart.

My money is on Harry Belefonte.

My sister just called and she just got her Christmas tree.  Since I need to get out of the house anyway, I'll take a shower and head over there.  I have a couple of errands to do before I get there and then after that, it'll probably be time for me to go to the theater.

Have a good day, all!

Back from a cheese omelet and an English muffin and no potatoes, from a trip to the framers to get something framed, which is what I like to do at the framers, and then a stop to a See's Candy shop to get two one-pound nuts and chews boxes - I've had two gift certificates sitting here for a very long time and I finally used them.

This has been a daily occurrence for the last few days.  It will pass, I'm sure.

I've been there once or twice.  I really like the aquarium in the lower level and the roller coaster.  It's pretty overwhelming, though

I finally had a chance to really listen to Herringbone last night.   I loved it.  I had no idea what it was about before listening.  Now, I really wish I could have seen it.  It's hard to believe it's all one person when you just hear it and don't see it.  B.D. Wong really is amazing.   Loved Skip's music!
