A COZY KIND OF SATURDAY
« on: December 14, 2014, 12:34:53 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were cozy and written on a Saturday even though they're Sunday's notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cozy cows come home.

Lat night, my wife and I watched the restored version of Orson Welles' TOUCH OF EVIL.  I'd never seen this version before, and Sandy had never seen TOUCH OF EVIL.

I love introducing her to great films she has never seen before, and I love Marlene Dietrich's line: "Your future is all used up."

Good morning, all.

Another day of running. I think it's running until I catch the airplane Thursday.

Good morning, all! At 1:00 this afternoon, i am meeting Paul Ford, pianist, raconteur, and longtime friend, for coffee.  I haven't seen him in years, not since the 1990s, and I look forward to it.  There will be much gossip and many laughs.

Before i go, I hope to get a major part of the Can-Can perused, Tomorrow, after therapy, I will head down to City Center and drop off the remainder of Paint Your Wagon to Joshie.

DR Jane, no I have not seen Mockingjay part 1. Although I really want to. I am curious to see the story continue on screen. And curious to see what the changes are from the book. I just don't love going to the theatre. So i will probably wait to see it on dvd.

i've been listening to some of the tracks from Into the Woods. I like what I hear so far and it's fun to hear the lyric/dialogue changes here and there.

Good morning, all.

Had my choppiest night of sleep in a long time, and now I must prepare for an all-afternoon rehearsal at the high school.

Coffee!

I have a friend at church who has early onset Alzheimers. She started exhibiting symptoms in her early 40s. I know she recognizes me, but I haven't heard her use anyone's name for a long time now. It is quite sad. She has a tween daughter.

Yesterday someone paid me back money that I was owed.....which was good because then I had the money to lend to someone else who asked for it.

I'm now the only one without any money.

Sunday morning greetings!  Fr. Richard excused me from Lima today so that I can trim our Christmas tree and wait for the reinforcements for Mom's move to arrive from Michigan and Illinois.  Handel's MESSIAH is playing and I'm about to start putting ornaments on the tree.

I wonder how long I've been doing the "that's the title of my next novel" joke here at haineshisway.com  Well, many, many years and it's become quite popular here, which I always enjoy.  Well, I just saw it used on Facebook and not by one of us but used by the friend of someone I know very well.  I don't think there's a coincidence here, do you?
