Today at work, we're having our annual holiday party and gift exchange. I didn't get a gift to exchange, so I won't participate in that, but I will participate in the goodie-snacks at our first break, and then the potluck lunch. I'm bringing some maple cookies for the break and some cheese for the lunch.

Between these two eating opportunities, I will be involved with dealing with a personnel issue with one of my staff. $:-\$ I can't say any more than that, but I'm not taking the lead on this...my supervisor is (she has a LOT more experience than I do in these kinds of matters, which is none at all). Hopefully, this will get resolved quickly and easily.

DR Jrand64 - I fortunately did NOT have to work until midnight last night, but some of my colleagues did. We found out yesterday afternoon that MN is extending the deadline until 4:30pm on Saturday, so the craziness will continue all week.

Little known, totally unimportant, fact about BIRDMAN OF ALCATRAZ:

It previewed in Seattle, my home town.

I was unaware of the preview, but I happened to be home visiting at the time and a limping Burt Lancaster was on my flight back to Los Angeles.
