Lots of Mercury activity this week.....so it is a week to be practical and also to get what you want by welcoming change.

Today was doctor appointments.

It looks like come the new year I will have either a partial or full knee replacement. I will get a second opinion from a doctor who specializes in partial knee replacement.

Also come the new year a multitude of test regarding the thyroid problems and I might be flying up to the Mayo Clinic to see another specialist.

Oh well life will go on I guess :-(

Greetings from Otterbein Retirement Community in beautiful Lebanon, OH.  I came out to tend to the business side of Mom's move and caught up with her having her hair done.  I'm having a cappuccino outside the beauty shop and will wheel her back to her room in her very own chair.

Nice :)

DR Mike, I didn't expect such an extreme surgery.  I hope whichever one who have solves your knee problems.  I know lots of people who have had knee replacements and were all much happier once they recovered.  The process wasn't fun though.  I don't know anyone who had a partial replacement.

Mike, is it easy to get nonstop flights to Jacksonville?  What is that, an hour?

I spent part of today opening Christmas cards that have been arriving since Thanksgiving. I got a check and soeone sent me a gift certificate for Luke's Lobster, but there was no information on who gave me this lovely gift.  I suspected it might be DR Ginny and Richard since we lunched there, but I really have no idea.

Ginny, your kitchen looks great! I had grey Corian kitchen countertops in my last house and really liked them. I hope you like these as well. What used to be where the cart is now?

Thanks, DR Jeanne!  The cart has always been there, but with no countertop.  We had a mammoth microwave on the cart.  The micro was old and too tall to sit on the counter, so it went to the landfill today.  We were going to buy a new one, but Mom said today she wants to get rid of hers (thank goodness!)

DR Elmore, I wish I HAD thought of that gift for you, but, alas, did not.  My gifting this year was sidetracked by Mom's sudden move.

Excellent timing.  I gather your mother's microwave is just the right size.

DR Jane, Mom's microwave might be too small, but if she thinks we need it that will discourage her from thinking she needs to be cooking soup in her room.

When I watch the old shows it is a bit of a surprise to go from black & white to color.  We have been watching The Lone Ranger in color.  In the first episodes the color was uneven.  It also went from a set to being filmed outdoors.  Sometimes the wind is louder than the voices ;D

Supposedly the Lone Ranger is based on Captain John Hughes, seated on the right.

I'm ok with the blue shirt but those blue pants-really ;D

I suppose they aren't as bad in the still photo as in action.  I always laugh at the mask comments when in reality I don't think anyone dressed like he did.

While they have the right to do this I think it is wrong of them.  I think she showed class by not answering their questions.

I liked the Lone Ranger in blue.....it was VERY different.  I watched Davy Crockett on Sunday night.....I hadn't seen it when it was released as a movie....and of course back in the first days of Disneyland, it was in black and white.

It was a lot of fun to see it in color.  I guess TCM is going to be showing some early Disney TV on a regular basis in 2015.
