Miss ONE DAY at HHW, however...

...or two...and aspersions are cast far and flung wide.

You get "welcomed back" even though you never went anywhere.

You get a red dot instead of a gold star and you're labelled "Errant and Truant."

You get castigated by the exasperated and eviscerated by the exacerbated.

DR FJL - I think it's in the air... Coincidentally, this week and next I'm playing auditions for the upcoming Encores! season... Which happens to include Applause.

Foe Cillaliz = ACLU rides to the rescue:

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Quote
WOMAN OVERHEARD YELLING OBSCENITIES AT TOILET COULD FACE JAIL TIME
SCRANTON, Pa. —

A woman who allegedly shouted profanities at her overflowing toilet within earshot of a neighbor was cited for disorderly conduct, authorities said.

Dawn Herb could face up to 90 days in jail and a fine of up to $300 (euro212).

"It doesn't make any sense. I was in my house. It's not like I was outside or drunk," Herb told The Times-Tribune of Scranton. "The toilet was overflowing and leaking down into the kitchen and I was yelling (for my daughter) to get the mop."

Herb does not recall exactly what she said, but she admitted letting more than a few bad words fly near an open bathroom window Thursday night.

Her next-door neighbor, a city police officer who was off-duty at the time, asked her to keep it down, police said. When she continued, the officer called police.

Mary Catherine Roper, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union in Philadelphia, took issue with the citation.

"You can't prosecute somebody for swearing at a cop or a toilet," she said.

"Tho it overfloweth, curse not thy toilet saith the Lord."

I'm sure JMK or Elan will have a more exact quote

I'd prefer to hear that said neighbor, having gotten the impression that something just might be wrong, had asked if any assistance was needed. But, then, that's just me.

You would think the officer/neighbor would rush over to make sure everything was ok. ::)
I bet the officer doesn't like the woman to begin with.  I wonder if he also has young children.

Good Afternoon!

For those DRs classically-inclined who also find that they want to spend just a bit more time reading things on the internet ;), I highly suggest this article from the current issue of The New Yorker:

The Well-Tempered Web

It covers and gives a suggested reading list of classical-music-slanted blogs.  The article itself is a good read, and the blogs listed are too.  And then some.

RE: last night's HEROES

SPOILERS

It was interesting to me that there was no Hiro and no peter (i love them both).  Yet the episode was still good.

I found that adding Sylar to the mix made the twins more interesting.

I really like Monica/the new hero/Micah's cousin. Her powers are awesome.

I liked them showing the picture of the 12 elders and seeing matt's dad. And i liked how it connected to molly and her dreams. HE is the scary man!

Good episode.

Actually, I meant to mention it before, but some flu-shot clinics will refuse to give you a shot if you look like your sick.  And some places will even take your temperature before administering the shot.  And I think they even make you fill out a brief self-health questionnaire now too.  ???
