Bruce I really think you should do something special for your special birthday.  I know the book signings are special, but something where you can relax and have fun & not worry about anything.
I've been to several of BK's book signings.  He really does have a lot of fun at them, gets to meet new people and greet old friends.  And the signings don't take up the whole day.  I hope he thinks of it as just part of his celebrations, with lots of ham chunks and party cake (not necessarily on the same plate).

And thank-you, DR Jane, for the belated vibes.

Hmmm...my foot is doing a bit better now, but three hours ago, I could hardly walk on it without a cane.  A repeat of yesterday's pattern.

That is because at 4:16 in the morning, you should have been in bed.

td you didn't miss anything.  Bruce is deciding what date to do his book reading/signing on.  One of the options is on his birthday, December 8th.

A week or so ago, I told my story about being in the Columbus Day Storm of 1962.  I mentioned that at the time the storm hit, we were all totally oblivious to the approaching storm.  We had heard about the storm in Portland, Oregon that afternoon (200 miles south), but none of our 60s weathermen thought to warn us that it might hit Tacoma.

Ironically, this afternoon all of the local stations have started warning us of a major wind storm that is due to hit our area.  The difference, 45 years later, is that this is Tuesday and this wind storm is not due until Thursday.  Ah, the miracles of modern science.

You are welcome.

Yes, he does have fun but he often, are you reading Bruce ;) complains the turn out was lower than he wished.  I'm sure much fuss and effort is put into doing this, and it will be his 60th.  I'm thinking something new and/or more relaxing would be nicer.  Of course, since it is Bruce's birthday, whatever he wants to do will work ;D.

For what it's worth, Der B and I would be there for the signing if we could be.

(Explains why two of the seats will be empty.)

Actually, the turnouts for the last two books have been pretty excellent.  I'm still undecided.

I've popped a chicken pot pie in the oven - store bought, not home made, just not up to that right now.  It should be ready in about an hour.

Does anyone know if THE CROWD will be released in the US on DVD? All I can find is a Chinese copy, but it is supposed to play in NTSC...

NTSC?  Is that the musical theater festival that everyone loves so much?

Happy to welcome the latest member of the fundraiser cast - Jennifer Leigh Warren, who will probably be recreating the song she does on my Stephen Schwartz album - Stranger To The Rain.

Are you reading for a trip to downtown Ashland?

When I mention we sat outside, with Sherlock of course, and ate lunch, this is our usual view.

DR SINGALING:

DVD release 4 Dec

der Brucer

Other than the obvious "90 minutes of looking at naked men" is there any point to that show?

During lunch we eat on the walkway behind the shops.  This is the front view of those shops.  Sort of anyway, if only the cars weren't there.
