Our checking account was pretty much cleaned out.  If there had been more money in it they would have gotten more out of it.  I don't like ATM cards that can also be used as a credit card.  We only used our ATM card as a cash card at Costco so the thief likely worked there.  Before this happened I unaware you don't need a PIN to use the card to charge something.

I had a similar problem with my bank account.  But the joke was on them, because when they tried to tap the funds, they recieved overdraft notices instead.  Sometimes it is great to be poor.

Well, from the clips I saw on the internet, it looked pretty stupid.  I am sure it would be fun in person, but the clips reminded me of OH CALCUTTA, THE MOVIE.

TCB, an even better joke would have been if they had to pay the notices for you.  Vibes you don't have similar problems, of either kind, again.

Well, I am sure that the shoulder surgery, if and when I have it, will probably put me back in the poor house.

To start your day off right:

Miss Annette Funicello singing "Promise Me Anything" from Beach Party, on some television show that I can't identify.  The background vocals are different from the album recording and the soundtrack....

Lovely dress and hair....DR CILLA LIZ you should wear this to the office!  ;D

Problem is if I go in during the times of day when I'm in less pain, they won't see the seriousness of it.  They'll probbaly say:  "Oh, You're walking fine!"

So Act like it hurts when it really hurts  ;D

;D  I'll remember that, if needed, when I finally have my appointment with the Podiatrist.  I don't go until Oct 26th, which is earlier than the Nov 2nd appointment they originally offered.  I did get the early, 9:00AM appointment.  I didn't want it, but I got it. ;D  I also limp more in the morning, hiking seems to loosen up the foot some.

With the serious foot & toe problems here at HHW, I consider myself very lucky I can walk at all, let alone hike.  I kept telling myself that today when I wanted to go much farther than my short 40 minute hike I have been indulging in.  I know I shouldn't go farther, and with Sherlock along I mustn't push him too far.

DR Cillaliz who did you like on last night's DANCING WITH THE STARS?

I really liked helio and julianne as always. But i really liked the choreography for cameron/edyta and jennie garth and partner.

I am really big into the choreography. I find that good choreography really makes a big difference for me.

I also thought sabrina was very good.

I thought they gave marie way too high marks. Same with jane seymour (although i think she is better).  I think mark cuban is the worst. I'm expecting him and floyd to go before any of the women.

I still don't get why they are giving some people really high marks for dancing so slow. Sabrina seems almost like a professional. But she gets almost the same marks as people like marie or jane who don't have any type of speed.

I will be very curious to see which woman will go first.  I would probably choose marie or mel (not that fond of her for some reason).

I'm watching it right now, but I don't think that dancing is just speed, especially when they were doing the Viennese Waltz. I think we sort of agree, although I thought Mark really improved last week

I googled the doctor I will be seeing & found an interesting article on his work in Vietnam....Click Here

This story was from 1997.  I hope the quality of care has improved since then.

Next, I watched Terrence Malick's lyrical tone poem DAYS OF HEAVEN. What a hypnotic movie it is.

I love his film THE THIN RED LINE.

Jane, I've had plantar fasciaitis (sp?) several times...hurts like hell when you get out of bed. I found that stretching my feet before I get out of bed would help a lot, and then more stretching before starting to walk around.

Vibes of the foot variety to you and FJL!

Tonight, in addition to Jeopardy and NCIS, I've watched a documentary on DVD:

Stolen

about the 1990 theft of 13 works of art from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.

I've had plantar fasciitis, also. My doctor had an anti-inflammatory that took care of it.

We had an interesting story in the news today. Greg and I lodged an ethics complaint against a reviled city councilman several years ago for voting to give the developer our tax money when the developer was also his business partner. Since our ethics board is so weak and has never even slapped anyone on the wrist for major conflicts of interest, nothing happened.

Well, today it came out in the news that the councilman and his wife each claim a homestead exemption, although a married couple is only allowed one exemption. This guy is a lawyer so he knows how to read the fine print, and these two residences were bought at separate times a few years apart. So he made a concious choice to defraud the taxpayers. Besides being illegal, it goes against the oath you take as a councilman.

He has been in office for over 20 years (he became a councilman when he was 21!) and is known as the "stealth mayor" because he bullies other councilmembers until he gets his way. He owns most of the buildings on our downtown square including the old movie theatre he let rot instead of letting anyone else buy it and restore it. Every decision and vote he makes is based on what will benefit him.

I hope he is recalled because of this!
