Thank you DR DAW.  I hate to do the Mom thing & keep asking how he is.  I'm sure he will be sore for a good while.  It is the full recovery I worry the most about-and those darn stairs.

But you ARE his mom...it's ok to ask :)   Vibes he recovers soon

Thanks for the vibes.  It is difficult being the Mom in an all guys house-they kind of roll their eyes at me. ;)

They may roll their eyes, but I bet they are glad you mother them :)

The big problem with progressives, or even the old-style bifocals, is where they locate the change from one focus to another.  I've been wearing bifocals for years now, and still have problems.  What I really need are trifocals - for reading, for working with computers, and for real life.

My progressive lenses are at least tri.  Why haven't you changed yours?
Danged union, only certain optometrists are acceptable for their discounts.  And getting an appointment, getting there (halfway across the state, of course), using up der B's valuable time because I sure as heck ain't driving... oh, wait, I'm still not driving yet.

I can see your difficulty, plus you have to return to pick up the new glasses.  When was your last eye exam?  If you have a prescription & all the measurements it might be worth buying them online.  There are some very discounted places on the internet.  The cost might be low enough to make it worth a try.

I have sworn off peanut butter for a while...

Just last night, I went to Costco and bought a big tub of Adam's 100% Natural Crunchy Peanut Butter.

Adams advertises their peanut butter is safe to eat.

Craig goes with the flow.  Years ago Bryan had a couple of girlfriends in a row who didn't have the best of mother's.  They really let him know how lucky he was to have a mother who cared.

This photo just breaks my heart.

I guess it shouldn't since this poor baby is still alive, and who knows how many koalas have died.

Are the notes for the cd that Walter Wilison is writing for a show he was involved or with of his friends composer Wright & Forest?

I'm recording it.  I still haven't watched day 1.  I missed the first hour today.  Did I miss the Bernese Mountain Dog?

Nope. The Working group is just about to start and it's almost the third hour.

I like those skyways. I wonder if it would work here in the desert where it is so hot in the summer? I don't know if people walk around downtown that much. Most people don't work downtown.

DR Laura - In Houston, there's a whole underground network of tunnels between a number of the buildings downtown. A much cooler walk in the summer.

Same in Toronto. A much warmer walk in the winter!

DR Laura, I think Phoenix is just too spread out for this to be practical.

I think the breed was judged today, so it may not have been posted when you looked.   They are great dogs.

I met my first boyfriend the summer I moved to Georgia. He had moved here from California a year earlier and we both felt a bit out of place here. I remember very clearly the first time I saw him. My mom and brother and I had driven to the Dairy Queen, one of the few places to go near our house. It was really out in the sticks then; now it's all developed.

My mom gave me a $20 to get their order and this cute guy was working at the window. When our eyes met it was really as though sparks went off. He gave me change for a $10 instead of a $20 and I didn't even notice the error, we were too busy looking at each other. I saw him there a few more times before school started, and then I was very happy to see that he went to my high school.

It took a little while before we went out. I dated a couple of football jocks who were older than me, and went on a few double dates. But my first official date with my boyfriend was to a movie. We weren't old enough to have drivers' licenses, so my mom dropped us at the theatre and his mom picked us up. He lived very close to my house! We went to see "Walking Tall"...pretty romantic, LOL!

I dated him for a year and a half and broke up with him to date a musician. I dated the musician for 5 years and left him for someone in his band, who became my husband #1.

Oddly enough, I've reconnected with my very first boyfriend via Facebook. We've caught up with everything, but his wife and I have been friends since college so she and I write to each other almost every day, and we may get together in the near future.

As revealed here last week, it's a Wright and Forrest show - Anya - but I haven't announced it so please keep the info here.

Another sign that it is over

The (Other label) website is currently under reconstruction. If you would like to purchase one of our titles, please check with Amazon or other on-line distributors.

Well, maybe they're coming back or maybe they've just given up doing this - knowing the players as I do, the latter seems doubtful to me.

Maybe Bruce Yeko, in addition to buying Footlight, has also bought the label - you never know.

So maybe Bruce Yeko will remaster the albums that you didn't get to do and he will make sure that Guy Haines' recordings will the light of day again
