Speaking of Netflix and Broadway's Lost Treasures--have any Netflix people here ordered Broadway's Lost Treasures:  The Plays?  From what I understand, Netflix is the only place where this is available for viewing--it's not for sale anywhere.

"The Best of the Tony Awards: The Plays" is the only title that I could find, but it has a 2004 date, so I don't really know if it is part of the same series.  I couldn't find it on the usual places that I order, so I added it to my Netflix queue.

How about The Brotherhood of the Traveling Speedos?

No....well....depends on who was in the Speedos....I mean, the cast.  ::)

LOL DR VIXMOM - you are correct, I am not in the TARGET range of the creators of EITHER of those movies.  ::)

Yes, I'm still waiting for my BAKER STREET CD to arrive. So far, nothing.

I haven't received mine, yet. :(

DR RLP, thankyou for the Times link... a well written  op-ed piece indeed, unfortunately it probably won't be read and appreciated by the people who so desperately need to get the message!

Well...that's true....but then there are people who read The Bible daily, and they STILL don't seem to have gotten the message.

Weather update:  We are having THE MOST UNUSUAL February...temps in the 70s every day...gorgeous evenings...clear skies....balmy everything.

Why, it's almost like being in paradise....(or so I'm led to believe).

They only seem to read Deutoronomy! (which I find odd in self professed Christians... they seem to miss the whole message of the fella whose teachings they purport to be following!)

Yes....those people tell you that the message is "God is Love" but they dwell on hate.

Good Morning!  Good Afternoon!

Slowly, but surely making progress... At this rate, I'm guessing I'll hit the Lincoln Tunnel around 5:30... Well, maybe the George Washington Bridge now that I think of it....

Although I think it was in the Holland Tunnel that Lucy Ricardo made her attempt....the policeman said traffic was backed up all the way to East Orange, New Jersey.

Friday greetings!

Media check:  CD (car) - on the way into work, Bette Midler's Live at Last, recommended here by several DRs; on the way home, audiobook White Teeth by Zadie Smith (my book group will discuss it next Thursday and I'm 'way behind.  I'll be doing what I call a "power read" - audio when I'm driving, reading when not.)

No DVDs or videos tonight, because we'll be watching the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

DR JRand - I was glad to read yesterday that you'd received your To Kill a Mockingbird materials.  It has just come to my attention that there's also an article about Monroville, AL, in the January, 2006, issue of National Geographic.

It'd be nice if my parents would read that article and actually hear what the author is saying. Of course, they don't hear what I say, either, so wishing is futile...

Good Afternoon!

Hmmm... Well, I just need to clear off and pack up my "desk" here, and I'll be all set to go.  I finally got over not getting on the road by 10:00am this morning, but I'm over that... basically.  ;)

I also realized that I do want to be up there next week, and it looks like if I headed up on Monday, it could actually be a bit tricky with the snow on the ground.  So...

I should be hitting the road in about an hour, and, Good Traffic Vibes would be appreciated.

Laters...

If wishes  were horses,

Beggars would ride.

If turnips  were watches,

I would wear one by my side.

and  if "ifs" and "ands,"

Were pots  and pans,

There'd be no work for tinkers!

Mail your parents a copy of the article and two tickets to Brokeback Mountain!  You might also mention the Biblical texts referring to  "Judge Not" and  'Ye without sin" etc .

Send them a copy of the letter that Armistead Maupin sent to his mother...reprinted in "Tales of the City", I believe, verbatim.
