I had lunch at Zaytinya.  -DR Jane and I lunched there a few years ago.  They now have a prix-fixe "Mezze Lunch" - three mezze and a dessert - so...

All very Yummy!

Then I walked around the Penn Quarter section of DC for a while.  I checked out Ford's Theatre's new office and box office area, and also a new cupcake shop, ice cream shop and an cupcake truck.  -I just "browsed" at the ice cream shop and cupcake truck. ;)

Then I headed back out to Virginia to try another location of DSW Shoe Warehouse, and... Success!  I picked up two pairs of perfectly-fitting shoes, as well some Teva sandals.  -That made my niece, Alexandra, very happy. ;)

Then I went to a performance of "A Seasonal Journey with 2nd Grade" which was presented by "Ms. Wilson-Morgan and Mrs. Burke's 2nd Grade Music Classes" at King's Park Elementary School.  My niece, Alyssa, was a part of the "Winter" presentation.  :)

*And, I have to say, I was quite impressed.  They recited poetry. They played instruments. They danced. And they sang... in three languages: English, Spanish and Japanese(!) -For "Sakura".  Needless to say, I was a very proud uncle, and it turned out that the grandparents drove up from Richmond for the presentation too - and then drove right back down I-95 right afterwards.  But it was nice getting to see my parents if even just for a few minutes.

My brother was driving down the road when suddenly his drivers side window  just exploded into his car-

He insist there was no reason for it and I think that somewhere there lurks a bb gun shooter

Sounds very impressive!! And I am sure that the evening was made more special for Alyssa by having her Uncle Jojo there

Then after the seasonal musical spectacular, I headed back into DC to meet up (again) with former DR Jason for dinner.  This time, we dined at a place that both of us love, Matchbox. Mini-burgers and Pizza! Again... Yummy!

*And then afterwards, we headed back over to Good Stuff Eatery for dessert in the form of a Milky Way Malted Shake for Jason, and a Toasted Marshmallow Shake for myself.  Double-Yummy!

You're welcome.  And now that you've gotten the Carnegie Deli out of your system... ;)  -But it is good to go there at least once if you have the chance.

DR Cillaliz - Most people who come into DC for the July 4th festivities are from the D.C. suburbs.  So, most of the traffic that occurs that weekend is on the roads, not in the airports.  -And on the 4th itself, not the 3rd. And since the 3rd falls on a Saturday this year, you won't have to worry about rush hour traffic either that day.

OH!  You're at the new National Harbor (MD) Complex!  Very nice.  -They have boats that sail between there and Old Town Alexandria, VA.  And from what I hear, there are some decent restaurants out there too.

As for last night's "Lost"....

I loved it.  It did take me a few minutes to get into it (all that reading ;) ), but then... :)

DR Jennifer - Don't analyze it while you watch it.  Just watch it.  Then think about it.  Then analyze it if you still want to.

Yeah, it looks pretty cool.  I had decided not to go, but I'm changing my mind.  I really did enjoy my trip to Vegas last year and this is the same group.  If I decide by Saturday, I get discounts for early booking etc.  I'm thinking I'll do it.
