Then, I switched the DVR over to last night's broadcast of HOUSE. I liked the episode, but I did think the surgery they showed was a little more than I wanted to watch in graphic detail. I'm sure the producers would say they showed restraint and didn't show all they could, but they certainly showed more than enough for me. I had to look away a couple of times.

I thought you'd be interested in this, DR Jennifer:

"ABC's Commander in Chief debuting before an audience of 16.2 million viewers, beating out CBS' The Amazing Race: Family Edition, which scored 10.7 million viewers. "

I watched "Commander in Chief" last night and it was riveting.  Geena Davis is a marvel.

I have a ticket for the November 26th (Saturday after Thanksgiving) matinee of "White Christmas" at San Francisco's Orpheum Theater!

Joy!  Joy!

Tickets for "Lestat" won't be made available to the public until October 30.  Until then, it's season subscriptions only.

Here's a little bit (litbit) of trivia -- what is this phrase from?

"Magic words of Poof Poof Piffles
Make me just as small as Sniffles."

Well, now, that just wrecks havok with that age old question "Does a bear sh*t in the woods?"

One answer is:  "I don't know, but they do go in Jane's garden!"

FERTILIZER, Jane!  FERTILIZER!

Odd day so far.  I've just been hanging around waiting for the Pool Man, because there is something very wrong with the pool water - very murky and ugly - it's never been like that before, and I'm afraid he did something bad when he reset the timer after the power failure a couple of weeks ago.  We'll see what he has to say.  I've gotten out to do a couple of errands, but I need to go buy some more packing supplies and I hope he gets here soonish rather than laterish.

Thank you, everyone, for your good vibes and thoughts and prayers. I'm glad its the end of the day because dad's news is finally starting to sink in and the more I have to talk to these stupid customers the more I just want to scream. I'm going to go home and do my laundry and pack my suitcase so I'll be ready when it's time to go.

Ciao for niao...

I haven't decided who my favorites are yet. No one totally grabbed me, but then I usually have to watch a few episodes before I get into it.

I'm not especially fond of the family thing yet, but I thought the challenges were just as difficult as they were with 2 people. If they don't dumb down what they have to do, then it could still be ok.  I liked going around the world better, but there is supposed to be a lot of historical stuff this season, that could be interesting.

I'm going to give it a chance. We'll see.

BK - Rupert Holmes' follow-up song "Him" also got a lot of airplay, and it's one of my all-time favorite pop songs.   I don't know how that song sold, though.

"Him" was in the top 10. I know it hit #8 at one time, but not sure if it went any higher.   Of course if you consider writing and not just performing, he's had more hits than that.

Hi folks!

I hope DR Elmore had a good and safe trip home.

I also have good wishes and vibes for all who are soon to travel.   Isn't it amazing that so many people are traveling so far just to have the pleasure of each others company for a few days?

Yesterday Jose posted Danise, the Vixter & I plan to "do" Central Park on Tuesday the 4th.  It would be wonderful to have you join us.

Please do join us, Jose.  :)  Everyone is welcome!

I have some odd ideas about what I want to see in and around the park--World Food for one thing.  Don't ask me why but I like to walk through another places grocery store just see what they offer.

Also there is a bridge someplace in there that I've seen in a number of movies and even on OLTL when Star was in NYC.  I'd just like to see it for myself.

I Tivoed Commander in Cheif last night so I have yet to see it.  It sounded good from the commercials.

I just received a call from my dad. It sounds like I may have to go home at a moment's notice as my grandmother's health is rapidly deteriorating. She's in the ICU right now and according to my dad, my grandfather has instructed them not to use any life support should she require it. She's nearly 84 years old and they've been married for over 60 years.

Please keep her and my family in your thoughts and prayers if you go for that sort of thing. Thanks...

DR Jason,

Every good wish and vibe for your Grandmother.

I got this from the Des Moines Civic Center today

"The Civic Center has just learned that the national tour of Doctor Dolittle is closing on Sunday, October 2.

As a result, the Civic Center will NOT be presenting Doctor Dolittle, as scheduled, October 18 – 23, 2005.

At this point in time, it is possible that Doctor Dolittle may be re-booked for a later date. If not, the Civic Center will replace this show in the Betts Broadway Series with a different production.

If we cannot find a suitable replacement, we will refund the Doctor Dolittle portion of your season ticket package or your purchase of single tickets.

We will send information to you as it becomes available.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, and we look forward to seeing you all at Cats and Little Shop of Horrors later this fall.

Thank you. "

Pippin is a schnoodle - schnauzer/poodle mix.  Chocolate brown.  He is twelve weeks old.  He belonged to my brother Kent and his girlfriend, but didn't fit in with the two other dogs in the family, so he has come to live with us.  He is about half grown and will be about 12 lbs when he is an adult.

He is running everywhere and jumping up and down checking out everything, so he should have some good sleep time tonight.

DR RLP we must know about the WHITE CHRISTMAS souvenirs.  I am especially interested in the staging of "The Best Things Happen When You Dance", "Mandy", and "Choreography."  My favorite moments in the movie.

Is this a slow news day here at haineshisway.com?  All right, who is the culprit? Who are the errant and truant so that I may write their names down and put them in one of those blocks like they used to put people in in the town square - what are those called?
