UGLY BETTY was next. An enjoyable episode, but I couldn't believe where they took the Connor-Wilhemina story. Oh, no!

Yep, that was quite an unexpected twist.

SEMI-SPOILER AHEAD

I'm just wondering if the security cameras in the elevators were working.  -I kept expecting that to come up to save the day.  Hmm...

Last night's LIFE came next. Good episode, but I was FURIOUS with Ted being manipulated by that woman showing up in his class. I guess some men are that stupid and weak. Her actions would have (1) been a total turn off to me and (2) sent up so many red flags that I would not have given her the time of day.

I did love Charlie getting the surprise drop on the hitwoman and then the final twist on the roof was also very satisfying.

I finally received an email from DR Danise.  The house situation is not good and the contractor did not turn out to be a good guy, just another charmer with loads of promises.  Sheena is still at the kennel & Danise at her friend's house.

She didn't ask, however if anyone has any suggestions for her please send them to me & I'll forward them to her.

Oh, no! This is terrible.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes for DR Danise! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know what she is going through. The same thing happened to my mother's condo. The contractor started but never finished it. She finally fired him. Kept his tools in lieu of getting money back. And then started over.
We thought of suing, small claims court. But it would cost more money and time. So we cut our loses and moved on
Unfortunatly there are people out there in workforce. But word of mouth will cut their business short. I don't think the contractor who we fired is working this area any more. He was a real flake on top of it all.
I ended the evening with tonight's 30 ROCK. A couple of good laughs, but not one of the better episodes.
... please stop in at the A Different Light Bookstore (8853 Santa Monica Blvd.) and say "Hello".
And bid them a fond farewell - they are going out of business.
der Brucer
Shhh!  They don't want people to know that.
Well, it was a featured story in the LA TIMES!
When was that?
Oh gosh, I do hope things will look up for poor Danise, she must terribly upset about this turn of events.
Many, many vibes that the situation improves, and  fast.
And speaking of situations, we finally found out what will be happening with us at work in our agency. No lay offs for this bienium (which ends June 30), but instead we are taking what amounts to a 20 % pay cut....OUCHY!
So, will you just be working a four-day work week?  -And do you have any idea how long the pay cut will last?
In other news...
Just in case you missed it and/or wanted to see what all the fuss was about, tonight's "Late Show with David Letterman" is a rebroadcast of the Joaquin Phoenix one from earlier this month.
Yes, a four day week until the end of June, then we will see what the budget looks like. We may have lay offs at that point. We will still be open 5 days, but each and every employee must take one day off each week, unpaid.
Despite all this, I did go ahead and book my Los Angeles flight for April.
Shouldn't it be "Hollywood and busted"?
I wonder if there is a local TV station in Danise's town who would like check into this creep who bilked Danise?
In a metro area like Tampa a simple ripoff of an unsuspecting women is not news, it is commonplace.
But even "commonplace" events make the news.  All of those "On Your Side" programs are there to help "unsuspecting" and "suspecting" men and women with some "commonplace" consumer problems.  DR Danise should at least know that she might have the option to consult with them.
Thankfully, DR Danise is not able to read your post right now - that's most definitely the last thing she would want to hear right now.
Just a teensy weensy "Nike tax" could take care of that problem.  ;)
