I am making progress. I hope to get them pulled before they go to seed, so it won't be so bad next year.

Isn't that exciting?

So the relative that is visiting from Minnesota is the wife of my DH's younger brother.  If she were my DH's sister, I would call her my sister-in-law.  But since she is related to his family by marriage, what is her relationship to me, exactly?

A. A purist would consult Mr. Webster - Sister-in-Law

DR MattH, I don't think The Bachelor After The Rose 2 is just a recap of the season. Apparently after the turn of events last night they need to do another update.

And btw2, I am surprised that some DRs were surprised by the turn of events since they were leaked last week.

Jennifer, I don't read internet sites about shows so I wouldn't have known about a leak

Okay fair enough. Although it was all over (on tv too), not just on sites about shows. Actually i posted a detailed description of what would happen yesterday. :)

Do we need to watch tonight's IDOL?  I can't see there being any other top 2 other than:
Scott McIntyre (blind guy)
Lil Rounds (black mother)

If you don't watch, you'll not see the performance by the other top-three winner. (Remember, you're the one who complains about inadequate exposure.) And without watching, how can you make a personal evaluation on whether or not Scott McIntyre or Lil Rounds earned a top spot?

der Brucer

I didn't say i wouldn't watch. I will.

And yes i have commented about inadequate exposure. That was my point here. the two i mentioned will 90% sure get through to the F12 because of their exposure before they even sing tonight.

"In Art class at Travilah, fifth grade students discussed the artwork "Three Flags" by Jasper Johns. The artist used a familiar subject and presented it in a different way. Students were asked to use the same elements of the American Flag and rearrange them into a new design. The finished products were displayed in the upper grade hall. Here is a sample of their work. Click on the picture to see a larger version."

They look a bit like the projects from a quilting class.

But calling her your sister-in-law is standard.

And I am nothing if not standard.       :D

I was thinking more along the lines of "irregular".

A little Pepto Bismol will take care of that.

Oooh!  I want the dish on some of the off-shoots, like the London variant.  Der B and I saw that, with it's bit on Roger Moore appearing in Aspects of Love, and the very next day he quit the show!  Talk about timing!

TOD

It took der B quite a while before he got us Internet access.  He hemmed and hawed, saying it was sure to be this fad and not worth our attention.  It was only after a friend of ours showed him what it was like that he finally buckled under and let it happen in our house, on our computer.

Within an hour of sitting down and playing on the Internet for the first time, I'd already posted over at that Sondheim site our esteemed BK mentioned.  Der B just shook his head and muttered, "It figures."

Four review items arrived in today's mail: PINOCCHIO on Blu-ray, TO CATCH A THIEF and THE ODD COUPLE (new Paramount Centennial Collection discs), and ANDY RICHTER SAVES THE UNIVERSE.

PINOCCHIO I will tackle when I finish with the BATMAN anthology. The others don't come out until March 24th, so they'll be shuffled in with the three Criterion discs I have waiting.

I changed my plans and watched yesterday's AS THE WORLD TURNS while I ate lunch. Luke and Noah were on with the continuation of their mystery. (I now think it's Kevin behind it all.) They were not in the previews for today's episode, but I didn't have time to speed through it to get to the previews for tomorrow.

Then, I watched BATMAN RETURNS. I've never liked this movie very much. It's kind of gross and unsettling, and the Gothic texture of the first one is refined a bit: it's still dark but it's more garishly colorful than the first.

The Blu-ray looks like I had hoped the first one would look: much better than the regular DVD version with true high resolution images and lots of detail. The first one was a bit of the letdown in that regard.

I had about 75 minutes left to start on the bonus features and got about half of them done. I should be able to get them finished and BATMAN FOREVER watched tonight which makes me REALLY happy.

Somehow, the title Batman Forever always sounds like a cheerleading song:

I have some writing to do, so I'll hop off-line to accomplish that, and then head back down to pick up where I left off with the bonus features for BATMAN RETURNS.
