She did not continue a singing career.

The movie of Annie is just way too long. I prefer the made for TV version.

Hey dear DR Laura..... is 9:30 AM tomorrow OK with you, to meet at the Original Pancake House on Camelback??

I wonder if that's the same OHOP that we have here. Do they serve something called a "Dutch Baby"? Very decadent pancake!

Mmmmmmm...my DH wants to go to our OHOP tomorrow morning in solidarity. Unfortunately, I have to work.

If you have any spare vibes, we could really use them tomorrow at 9PMest for a record-breaking season premiere of THE CLOSER. The last two years broke records so they are expecting us to deliver even bigger numbers this season.

I won't get any monetary reward but it will make us look good, so more work in the long run!

And why did they think they needed to add Punjab?

I went to my first Broadway play after I won a contest that the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra sponsored. They had a bunch of publicity shots of guest artists they'd had over the years and I identified them all correctly and won a trip to see the ASO at Carnegie Hall.

My ex and I went, and although I couldn't afford it, I bought tickets to see Big River, since I liked Roger Miller when I was young.

First real Broadway show that I really, really loved: Bill Irwin's FOOL MOON.

I have spent Father's Day watching season 2 of The Office! I laughed so much today I almost threw up.

My final disc of season 2 should arrive from Netflix later this week.

DR Sandra has a question: Why does Andy call Jim "Big Tuna?" She missed that part because Sarah was talking to her on the phone.

BTW, today is the anniversary of the day, 16 years ago, that my ex moved out. So I think of today as my own personal "Juneteenth"!

My first Broadway show has yet to be.

I have a funny feeling that condition is about to be remedied.

You must pick a good show to sacrifice your Broadway virginity.

My first Broadway bound show was ANNIE at the Kennedy Center in DC. It was the same night Roslyn Carter went to see it. our group was in the very back row of the top balcony and I loved it.  The first Broadway show I saw was THE WIZ a couple days later - it was a church trip where we studied apartheid in South Africa in DC and at the U.N.   Then I went on an AIFS trip to London that summer and the first show I saw there was A CHORUS LINE. That was all in 1977. I saw A CHORUS LINE on another school trip in New York in 1978.  I don't know if I saw any of the men mentioned.  I do know I saw Priscilla Lopez.  It's a name I remember

This really dates me, of course, but my first Broadway show was MY FAIR LADY with Sally Ann Howes and Edward Mulhare. Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews had gone to London to recreate their roles, and these were their replacements.

Most exciting theatrical experiece on Broadway - unquestionably the original FOLLIES.

Glad you finally dug up the RATINGS GAME stuff, BK. A good friend of mine and I always loved that movie and the tunes from it.

"Sittin' pretty....Thaaat's Riiight."

What was the theme to the show about garbage men? Just music, right? Great stuff.

The voice of "Sittin' Pretty" sounded like the Dr. John-esque "Love that Chicken From Popeye's" voice from commercials.

Oh, I made it home. Not til about 7:00 PM, but that was pretty close to what I expected.  The girls are very happy to see me. Boo went upstairs and got her favorite toy and brought it to me. She has never done that before..

I think I've been logged on all day, but I just got home from an epic journey to IKEA with my cousin and his wife. I got something couchlike and some shelves my records might fit in, so I'll be happy when I actually figure out how to put them together.

When you put the records together - the little hole is in the middle.

I so wanted to make a comment about that in relation to DR TCB.

I began my evening of viewing with THE BONE COLLECTOR, and it's a crackerjack forensics/mystery story. Great cast, too: Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Ed O'Neil, Queen Latifah, John Benhamin Hickey, Luis Guzman, Michael Rooker, Bobby Canavalle. No, I didn't guess the identity of the murderer. I probably would need to watch it again to see if there were any clues planted to lead us to him. It was someone I didn't suspect at all.

I know it's the middle, silly. But the middle of side A or side B?

I have a question:

Does that little symbol of a wine glass and a fork on a kitchen item mean that it is dishwasher safe?

Next, I put in THE CELLULOID CLOSET. Since I've been watching some of the gay image films from TCM over the past two weeks, I figured it was time to revisit this excellent documentary.

Next I watched the bonus interview footage on the CELLULOID CLOSET DVD. Lots of comments didn't make it into the finished film, and some of them are very interesting and fun. Some people like Kenneth Anger, Rita Mae Brown, and critic Robin Wood got cut completely out of the movie.
