Why am I laughing?

I wonder if Salvador Dali would have created an Eyes Sculpture in recognition of your talent FJL?

For some reason I just never knew Dirk Bogarde was British...it seems odd that I have not come across him before...although, of course I had heard of him...just never saw him in anything....looks-wise he reminded me a bit of Lee Patterson.

And I enjoyed him in THE SLEEPING TIGER...pretty good little British noir film.

Thank you, Tomovoz.  But after a mini-frenzy like that, I've been advised to get myself out of town, so I think I'll do that.

Good night.  See you all on Sunday (unless I find an internet cafe at the bar mitzvah, that is.)

We finally started Season 2 of Mary Tyler Moore, and the theme song has finally changed to the one I remember.  Gotta love this show.

Does anyone know if they plan to release "Alice" on DVD?  Or even "Facts of Life"?

Time for you watch Jack's suggestion of "Tale Of two cities" Michael.  A fine actor indeed IMHO.

George feel better vibes!

We used their kitty litter until one of our cats developed breathing problems.  He was most likely sensitive to begin with but that stuff from there creates too much dust.

Thanks Jane and everyone for the Vibes!  I'm feeling a bit better now and I was actually able to take a nap for a couple of hours after getting back from Costco, but I will certainly sleep well tonight.

I usually got the LitterPurrfect brand at Costco, but they didn't have any.  I had to get the big giant bucket of Scoop Away that claims to be 99.9% dust free.  WRONG!  I dumped it into the cat box and POOF! dust everywhere. :P Fortunately, it settled and Ebonie (my cat) doesn't seem to have a problem with it...so far.

As I have some unwatched John Abraham DVDs waiting for me I think his should be my Bollywood viewing for the weekend...

GARAM MASALA (2005) a hit comedy starring Mr. Abraham (Hamy to those of us closest to him, LOL!) and Bollywood hunk Akshay Kumar

This is John's first comedy role and I have heard that he did a great job!

DR GEORGE how is your watch doing?  You ARE Dick Tracy.

My watch works quite well, thanks for asking!  I was actually able to put almost 16 hours worth of songs on it!  I have 291 tracks, although some are fairly short transitions from a live recording.  The other issue is the order in which they play.  They don't play in alphabetical order and my previous MP3 watch only played them in the order in which they were added to the watch...which is rather inconvenient when I want to listen to cast recordings in the correct song order...which is pretty much what I put on the watch.  We'll see.  I printed the song list and I'll keep track if I get a chance to listen for more than a song or two.

Is that the MTM theme that is

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it.

Love is all around no need to waste it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all,

MTM Statue Dance.....

And if time allows this weekend I will watch VIRUDDH (2005) starring John Abraham and yesteryear stars Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore. Story revolves around elderly parents whose adult son is murdered.

Yep, the first season had an alternate lyric.  I was quite shocked when I heard it.  It felt rather wrong.

I vaguely remember that.  I never missed an episode when it originally aired. It was one of my favorites shows

Finally found it...here's the first season lyric

How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You might just make it after all
You might just make it after all

I remembered the "It's time you started living" line, but not the rest

If you watched MTM, did you also watch Bob Newhart. I loved that show. Of course in college it led to playing "Bob" where you took a drink everytime someone said "Bob"

I had a very entertaining night of eclectic movie choices.

First up was MR. SKEFFINGTON. I got it for Christmas, and it's been sitting here since then, so I thought it was a good night to watch such a long movie with nothing on TV I wanted to watch.

It's a great transfer with silky black and white images and few if any artifacts that I could see.

I know Bette got an Oscar nomination for the film, but it's never been one of my favorite performances of hers. Oh, it allows her to go through many different periods and to age ungracefully, but I find her acting very studied in this. And she really wasn't beautiful enough at this stage of her career to play a beauty.

Then, because I enjoyed the movie SERENITY so much that I watched a couple of weeks ago, I put in the first disc in the FIREFLY series. I skipped the two hour pilot since I was already familiar with the set-up. After I watched the other episodes (only half a season worth), I'll go back and watch it. There may be different faces or subplots that weren't carried over into the real series since Fox never aired this show.

Very enjoyable like all of Joss Whedon's series.

And then I watched the utterly enchanting LILI which I recorded off TCM during the wee hours of the morning. I have the movie on videotape, but I suspect this version will look better than the tape (which I haven't watched in quite a while). I only watched the first 50 minutes or so. I'll finish it tomorrow.

Got the chord progression going on the Casio keyboard and the uke strumming, not to mention the coconut infused oil thing my sis gave me, all I need is a frosty island drink, and the office would seem like Hawaii.  Lovely Hula Hands..... if only I had a web cam... NOT!!!!
