I agree DTM.

Oh....my friend Patrick Agan said that when he visited Tony Randall years ago to interview about his experience working with Jayne Mansfield...Patrick was smoking....eventually Tony (this was before his fanatic phase) offered Pat an ugly ceramic ashtray....Pat said it was hideous.

"Use this," said Tony, "Kim Novak made it for me when we doing 'Boys Night Out' ...."

Not Tony Award anecdote...but funny...I thought.

Was that WONDERFUL TOWN number supposed to show off Donna Murphy?  I would rather hear lyrics and see a number than what I just heard and saw.  Wouldn't convince me to buy a ticket...in fact, might do the opposite.

I thought the set-up for the number was kind of cute, with the "villiage types" at the cafe table.

My housemate checked his e-mail at Comcast.net.  When he logged out, he didn't close the browser and I saw who/what show won best score & book.  Darn, no suspence in those categories for me. ::)

Anne Heche wins ugliest dress of the night - so far!  From me, that is.

Thirty minutes.

And counting!  They're showing more and more commercials for the Tony© Awards during "60 Minutes" as it gets closer to 8:00 PDT. ;D

Give me Priscilla Lopez any day as Mary J. Blinge interprets "What I Did for Love."  Ugh!

You want to know what I don't like?

...

Okay, I'll tell you anyway.  I don't like it when winners mention all the other nominees in their acceptance speech.  I guess that they feel it's being gracious, but to me it just comes off as disingenuous.

Better they should mention their lawyers?  Oh that's sincere.

They were gonna get Jennifer Lopez but she's on her honeymoon.

Hmm... I'm guessing there's a new songbook (folio) out called the "Tony Awards Songbook" (probably a Hal Leonard publication) and/or maybe a new compilation CD... Time to check out Amazon.com

The CBS promos are hilarious - trying to make it look like some MTV show.

With the screamers up in the balconies, it's more like the American Music Awards.

Of course all the errant and truant will show up tomorrow with the usual excuses - I was here, I was there, I was this, I was that, and we shall laugh and laugh and then we shall laugh some more.  Last year at this time, no one was errant and truant, there were no excuses, and, if memory serves, we had over six hundred posts.

Well, an interesting Tonys to be sure. Not exactly sure what to make of it, but the fallout will be very, very interesting.

Question: Will I avoid reading HHW until I get to see the Tony Awards?
It should be finished and taped for me in a few minutes. Can I wait until tomorrow to collect the tape?
Decisions decisions.
If I avoid HHW, shall I be slapped fromm here to eternity?
Our morning paper (not mourning paper) headlines this morning:
"From Hollywood To Eternity". "World Mourns Soviet Buster"
Another  rewrite of history.
