Well, I'm leaving work.  My sister received a Christmas package from our cousin and his wife, who live in Oregon and they sent something for me!  After that, I'm going to Border's to use my 30% off coupon on ANY ONE ITEM (hopefully...if I can find something that I want)! :D Then, to my parents' for a little visit.

Then finally, home to my cat. :)

Until later!

She needs to wear a necklace with that dress....

;D  You are right.  I have noticed a trend lately of not wearing necklace's when I think the neckline needs one.

Yes, I am, although I think  I'll save my culinary skills for the frosting and graham cracker sandwiches for you guys.

TOD:  Queen of Outer Space is still a favorite.

I always liked "Forbidden Planet" for Anne Francis

Back (barely) from a long day of seeing two motion pictures.  I do love getting in free, and at the Arclight you get to choose your seats, and they do instruct the audience to turn off their cells and to be quiet.  Of course, the idiot woman sitting behind me was loudly chatting away while the announcement was being made.  I looked at her with a scathing look and she shut up.  And the audience was quiet and respectful except for the noise of eating, paper rustling, and lip-smacking hot dog eaters.  Can people just not sit still and WATCH a movie without making utter pigs of themselves - and these VATS of popcorn are ridiculous.  And the "bargain" matinee price at the Arclight is 11.50!  And the VAT of popcorn is six bucks.  Thank the Lord I don't eat during the movie and I get in free.

First up was Frost/Nixon, then a lunch break at Fudrucker's (there was an hour wait at the Cheesecake Factory - you'd never know we were in a recession) - I had a bacon cheeseburger and some cole slaw.  Then it was on to Doubt.  I enjoyed them both and will have more to say in the notes.

I will say that the six trailers I saw were so wretched that one just has to sit in wonderment and ask how these things get greenlit.

YES!  We all get an EXTRA SECOND!

Do you have a date? ;)

I'm not sure yet, actually.  I've been invited to a few parties, but part of me just wants to camp out in front of the TV here, watch Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper on CNN, and head to bed around 1:00am.

*And since tomorrow's weather forecast is calling for snow in the morning turning to rain in the afternoon, coupled with below-freezing temps, well, sounds like a good day for cocooning.  By myself or otherwise. ;)

A date at home could be very nice ;)

And a date at home who would wallpaper your basement would be even nicer.

LOL. like that is going to happen...

So... Does this dress even count at "low cut" anymore?

*Shoshana Bean in the current - and revised - production of The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber at the Kennedy Center.

I was going to say "it lifts and separates" but it looks like it just separates.

Me too.  -And I'm always amazed at just how big the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater looks on TV.  It's not a small theater by any means, but it practically looks like the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

I did get two packages today, and I fear the others I'm expecting weren't shipped until yesterday or today - people are slow during the holidays, I guess.  Listening to a terrific Chris Connor CD of "today's" hits (circa 1966), with Don Sebeskey and the orchestra.

So, the brand new light rail system opened on Saturday, and the first train/car collision was today.

I'm also watching the Kennedy Center Honors.  It gets my goat how they always get the honorees they (CBS) believe are the least interesting to viewers out of the way in the first 35 minutes before moving on to the Big Stars.

And I still wish that "they" would broadcast the complete tributes. Or at least make them available to view online or even on DVD.  Alas, for broadcast purposes, some segments get edited out.  -As well as re-shot and re-performed after the ceremony if needed.

*I still remember one year where they opened the ceremony with a performance by one of the service bands, and the engineers noticed that the audio was not working properly.  So, they had to make the band stay for the whole ceremony to do a major "pick up" afterwards.  -And since most of the band members were also members of the A.F.M., the musician's union, well... Can you say, "Overtime"?
