I'm going to do an about face here and say that I don't think they should delay the transition.  If they had made this decision months ago, when they would have had time to plan out exactly what needed to be done to insure that everyone was informed and prepared, then it would have been worthwhile.  As the FCC stands now, I don't believe it's capable of what needs to be done between now and June.  This will probably be a waste of time

Do any of you folks have photo radar on your streets and freeways? Or is this something that is unique to Arizona?

We do.  There is one just up the street from me.

Internet browsing suggests that at least the following states (or locals within these state) have photo-radar:

New York, Illinois, Maryland, Tennessee, New Mexico, Virginia, Ohio, Texas, North Carolina, Oregon, and, of course, Arizona.

It appears that the theme song from Gran Torino (Jamie Cullum) is only available as a download.  I thus can not have a hard copy and can not compile  a disc of this year's Golden Globe and Oscar song nominees.

I've tried by converting to wave files but it still can't be copied.  I am vexed!

Tom, Google "Protected Music Converter" and download it--you get a couple of uses free before you need to pay the Shareware price, which isn't bad, as I recall.

I always wash the eggs before cracking them open.

Won't help with the bugs inside the eggs:

After reading the symptoms of salmonella in this morning's paper, I'm thinking that may indeed may have been what I had a week or so ago.  Though I can't for the life of me figure out where I got the peanuts, as that is not a regular part of my diet.

I was afraid that I was going to get salmonella, but then I heard the cause was peanuts.

I think I've written close to seven pages, so I'll now take a break and I'm either done for the day or I'll do some finessing later and maybe finish the chapter I'm on (just another half-page).  Then it's on to the final three chapters, probably another thirty-five pages or so.

Just finalized the first in our new LACCTAA series of four events, which will start on March 21st.  An afternoon with David Lee, creator of Frazier, and director of several acclaimed theatrical productions here in LA, several at the Pasadena Playhouse and several at Reprise.  We'll do a Q&A as well.

Not only do we have photo radar vans that move from place to place, we also have permanent cameras all along the freeways.

We have all that stuff, too. But we're not on the list!

DR JMK - Just remember, you can get salmonella from things other than peanuts.  Are eggs a normal part of your diet?

I always wash the eggs before cracking them open.

What DR DERBRUCER said.  ;)

It is still better to wash them than not to. ;D

Well, whether you wash your eggs or not, it still comes down to cooking them properly.

I know, except I like soft boiled eggs & lightly cooked scrambled.

We are going hiking today. It is supposed to be 82 degrees today.

I was very happy to have sunshine & 60 degree weather yesterday.  Right now it is about 50 degrees.  Alas rain is expected tomorrow.

It is a beautiful day today in Tacoma.  A lot of blue sky and sunshine.  It probably isn't over 50, but it feels great.

I have a question for the library workers here (or even people who use the library a lot).

Is it common to cut up little paperbacks?

My sister's library takes their small paperbacks and cuts off the front and back and glues it on to this hard covered frame.

Now it obviously makes the books last a lot longer. But it just seems so wrong to me to cut up books.

It's common in bookstores to return overstock paperbacks by tearing off the covers and returning only the covers for credit.

Heck, there's a gal that work for the company that supplies us with paperbacks that sits down with the books that aren't selling and gets ripped just tears into her work.

We do.  There is one just up the street from me.

Not in Ashland but Medford has them.  We found out the hard way.  You don't see it until it flashes in the driver's face, almost blinding the driver.  The passenger on the other hand completely misses it until the driver yells-"I couldn't see, what was that!"
