This day has whizzed by.

I visited the local USPS facility and was amazed at all the new stamps.  There is a "Star Wars" stamp, and there is a Yoda stamp (all to himself).  There are some lovely 1-cent Tiffany lamp stamps, and some gorgeous Lunar New Year stamps featuring red Chinese balloons.

I made a p-i-g pig of myself and bought some of everything.

This time tomorrow, my final LANAP surgery will be over. and I shall be on pap for at least a week.

That could be a good thing, I suppose.  But I really love to chew my food, ya know!

Did anyone mention that last night's debate took place in the Kimmel Theater?

I'm sure sick of all the pope coverage.  There should be a Catholic channel to deal with all of this.

Did you see Jon Stewart's hilarious take on that last night on The Daily Show?  He showed how the Jewish News Network would cover it. ;D

Today is grocery day, and the day that DRJOSE sees Mr Mario Lopez in A CHORUS LINE - it is a RED LETTER day!

Did you have to rub it in again about Jose and Mario?

DR ArnoldMBrockman - There are only two songs on the new 2 CD William Finn set that are new to me.  Nevertheless, if you are a Finn fan, I do recommend it.  Nice performances, some new vocal arrangements.  It's just four singers and a piano, recorded live Off-Broadway.

Thank goodness!  I hated the last recorded dead CD that I bought.

Yes, DR George, you are right that MIDNIGHT COWBOY was the first (and only X-rated) movie to ever win the Best Picture Oscar. A CLOCKWORK ORANGE was nominated but didn't win. Both movies were subsequently rated R in later releases.

I remember going to see MIDNIGHT COWBOY thinking "Oh boy, dirty movie."  Not.  Depressing movie.  Beautifully acted movie, but God was I depressed.

Artie's matzoh ball soup is quite tasty today! I think I detect a bit of cinnamin.

Ron Raines stopped by for a CD and now I'm back to the Men's Chorus charts.

DR Jose, who's the MD for DAMN YANKEES?

I just looked; it's my beloved Rob Berman! Tell him howdy for me. Or is he tied up in Houston with AMERiCAN IN PARIS?

..........Tied up in Houston with an American in Paris.  That is the title of my next... ah....musical.

DR MISS KAREN, I always die on my side facing upstage, do the singer's breathing DR JOSE mentioned, and pushing up slightly with the hand that is against my upper side - keeping that arm slightly away from my body.

A layer of clothes with some space also helps.

Or if the actor is particularly obnoxious, you could really kill him.

That would be my advice.  Except the last part.

DR Ginny, I am speaking tomorrow for a group of retired professionals.  I changed my topic yesterday and will prepare my remarks tonight....guess I wouldn't be on you "good" list.... Actually, this is really informal. I did get my materials in early for the Paralegal Seminar I'm speaking to in May.  I must remember to discuss power point.

For tomorrow, I'm now speaking about immigration. My handout will be the test you have to take to become a citizen.

I just read HERE that Ron Raines is going to be in a concert performance of A Little Night Music with Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson. :D

The June 12-14 concerts at Boston's Symphony Hall will feature the Boston Pops orchestra conducted by Keith Lockhart. The 8 PM concerts will also boast the Tanglewood Music Center Fellows. (Tanglewood will also present this cast in Night Music July 8 at 8:30 PM.)

I'd love to see that!

Dying on stage department:  I played Jerry in Zoo Story throughout high school (try performing that one at State, held at BYU in Utah, LOL), and of course got that great death scene after that insane monologue and the fight with the knife.  We worked out two strategies--I had to die on the park bench, so people could definitely see me, but we decided to have me wear a windbreaker that kind of hid my stomach, and I "died" sort of sideways.  Then I practiced taking quick, shallow breaths that didn't involve much diaphragm action, and it seemed to work out very well.  I won Best Actor, as I'm sure you all know.   ;D

You were up against Paul Muni that year!
