I didn't get the Fox Blu-rays, so I guess tomorrow will be a day off unless they arrive.

This has been a very interesting day; I've heard some gossip concerning the recording of a project I was once supervising and it sounds like there was a lot of trouble. I guess I called it accurately several months ago, but the problem with "I told you so" is that nobody wins. We all lose.

Don't forget that tonight is the season (and possibly series) finale of SOUTHLAND on TNT. Looks like they're having a marathon leading up to it which is good news for me since I missed one of these new episodes this season and didn't want to watch it on-line.

I didn't know about the possible series finality.  I've been recording this for my friend Margo (who is having one of her knees replaced today!) and was ready to make a disc with four episodes, and then wait with then next batch of four...but I guess I won't wait, since there won't be another batch of four, just the two more that I have plus tonight's. :-\

I just ordered some new discs from the Warner Archive including the new restoration of Al Jolson's MAMMY. With this, I'll have all of Jolson's 30s films on DVD and can retire that old laserdisc box set.

Was also pleased to see the new Joan Crawford Value Pack.

I ordered MAMMY & ABOVE SUSPICION.

Jennifer, I decided to practice using Kelley Armstrong's name.  This time I found the link for "sort by" & was not doing it correctly.  It still didn't put them in correct order, or there are two release dates, hardcover & paper back".  I like you can scroll down & see an events page for the author.

Yes there are two dates, the hard cover and the paperback.  But if you take her as an example all her books are series. So you just look for the series name followed by volume 1 ...

I was able to go on a bike ride since there was no rain till tonight.

And i found one of the items i was looking for (it had fallen in a very hard to see spot under my desk) but not the key.  And it is driving me crazy. Now i am also trying to see if i can find the spare. I looked where i usually hide my spares and it was not there!

I got the Rings trilogy on Blu and Ray today - I've only ever seen the first twenty minutes of the first one, after which I gave up.  However, I've decided to try and get through them.  I also got the animated version of same, Cocoon, and The Natural.

Very problematic transfer on the first one according to my usually spot-on colleague Ken Brown.

Today's UPS delivery brought forth the BVD (Blu-ray Video Disc) of "The Natural" and the 2009 Broadway Cast Recording of "A Little Night Music".

It helps if you know the series name to do that.  Just out of curiosity I went to her website & everything I wanted was easily seen on her homepage, with just a an easy click to obtain additional info.

Was that the Rosalind Russell "Mammy" or was it the Lucille Ball one?

Rice - my favorite is my mom's rice that goes with roast beef.  You put 1 cup of rice in a can of beef consume. Then when there is about 30 minutes left for the roast beef to cook you put it in the pan with the roast.  You can add whatever you want to it- onion, parsley, msg...  It's great.  It soaks up all the good juices from the roast.

Concerning connecting a portable heart monitor:

Cardiac Rehab Tech - "The leads are color coded to make correctly attaching the patches easy"

Me: "I bet that makes it tough for Color Blind Patients "

CRT:  <sigh>

Me. "And the blind will complain about the absence of Braille markings"

CRT: "I can tell you're going to be a problem!"

DerBrucer, I hope the heart monitor thing works well and that there's nothing serious they are checking for.
