Yes DR JANE we were to be out on July 15....my sister canceled the alarm service yesterday, along with the telephone and electricity.....which was especially nice, because his office is next to our former place, and his [small] electric bill was tied to ours. So he had no electric service until he got it turned back on.

THE FAMOUS CHAIR was still where I left it at the theatre.  So I brought it home and last night, and this morning I rolled it across the street and left it on my neighbor's front porch.

I haven't been able to find any interior photos of Mama Leone's on the Internet that depict it as I remember it. It was HUGE - maybe 3 stories tall? With skylights and open atriums and stairways and balconies. Although you were inside, you felt like you were sitting outside on a stone terrazzo, and there were all sorts of nooks and crannies off to the sides.

There isn't much, surprisingly, other than memories of people who went to ML's and loved it.

Here is a memory and a bad scan of some restaurant items when it was still on 48th Street

That was very nice of you to return the chair, DR Jrand. I wonder what his reason for wanting it back was?

I don't know that I have had enough 'real' Italian food to have a 'best.'

Someday I will rectify that, I hope.

I called Comcast and it seems that my modem is quite ancient. I plan to have it replaced and I am hoping that, perhaps, it will fix the issues with Netflix and Amazon.com streaming on my tv.

The modem that I will be getting is a modem/router combined, so I will not now need to have two box thingys sitting behind my tv.

I am going to have a Comcast guy come and hook it up, as I am not totally convinced that I will do it correctly.

All of these electronical gadgets....DVRs, DVD players, modems, routers, Smart TVs, cable television....I feel so spoiled and so far away from the days of having to be home at a certain time in order to catch my favorite programs or setting the alarm for 3 am so as to watch the late, late night movie!

Although I have wonderful memories of those long ago days, I am much happier with the new fangled ways!

Maybe he had stuffed it with money?

My neighbor's story was that his wife said "Get rid of the computer chair" and he put the wrong one outside.

He is home, but he has yet to bring my computer chair with arms back across the street.

I have a few surprisingly nice memories of that, too, setting the alarm to see some beloved B-movie on TV, even with cuts and commercials and panned-and-scanned...   That kind of thing meant something in those years before the first VCR.

Elaine Stritch has passed away - eighty-nine years can only be celebrated.  Certainly I had a good time when I worked with her.

Sorry-grateful at her passing.

Am listening to her wonderful rendition of "When Love Beckoned."
