I regret to say I hardly ever went out to Arizona when I lived in California.

I did fly over with my flying club a couple of times.

If I had my L.A. years to do over, I'd do so many things differently it wouldn't even be funny.

Must leave now.  I have a ton of stuff to do, and a rehearsal, so I'm probably not back till late tonight.

TOD:  I love a lot of composers from the classical world.   I can't say there's anyone I detest, either.

My favorite classical composition:  "Enigma Variations" by Sir Edward Elgar.

Lots of good choices for the TOD.....I am enjoying reading the choices.

For me:

Tchaik - First Piano Concerto in B Flat Minor.....and most everything else of this composer

Orff - Carmina Burana

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata

The Sherman Bros. - Tall Paul

TOD: I'm pretty partial to dark, dramatic, brooding, and epic as far as my tastes in classical music go...which makes me a sucker for a lot of Russians, Scandavians, and the occasional German.  I also like romantic sweep...Miklos Rozsa is my favourite classical composer (yes, we wrote other things beyond movie scores and several of his movie scores were based on his classical compositions).  Composers I like: Rimsky-Korsokav, Mussorgsky(sp?), Ravel, Debussy (a lot), Stravinsky, Kachaturian, Copeland, Vaughn Williams, Walton, Dvorak...I listen to classical a lot when I'm writing or driving in the car.  Hear lots of pieces I like, but don't remember who wrote them.

From all I can tell, the very first "word of the day" was "falafel".

Good job!  I would have thought it was before that, but then I can't remember when we actually began this board rather than the way we used to do it.

DR Laura, which mountain is that?  Do you climb the same one all the time?  Not that I'll know it, but I'd enjoy looking at it on Google or Bing.

I usually climb South Mountain. Not a huge mountain, but enough of a mountain for an old gal like me.

Thanks JRand.   I felt really sad last night and just let myself be mad then sad and I'm feeling much better today.   Edith gave her key and parking card to the building maintenance man to give to me.  She didn't even come up to get her stuff.  Of course she didn't mention to him that she already has a new job , just that we had a disagreement and she quit.  At this point I really don't care. There is so much less chaos here with just Bob and I plugging away and getting our work done.   I quite like it, actually.

I have put out the word I'm looking for someone part time.  Not going to advertise, just sent it out via several grapevines.  I have no doubt that things will be fine and better things are to come.   I'm already feeling freer and more in charge of my own business.

I used to drive up South Mountain and lived in the Rancho Ladera Apartments just south of The Pointe at South Mountain

My favorite classical composition:  "Enigma Variations" by Sir Edward Elgar.

The Elgar is high on my list, simply for the heartbreaking Nimrod variation.

Have fun! I hope it's not as lousy as the Guthrie's broadcast of HMS Pinafore! That was an atrocity.

And I am home from physical therapy and the post office.

DR slingshot, I see the dread Dowling, who destroyed Pinafore is directing but my old friend Jeff McCarthy is playing Higgins. I haven't see him since SIDE SHOW. And Melissa Hart, whom I saw in the national tour of CABARET around 1968, is playing Mrs Higgins!
