Sunday evening greetings!  As if having my alarm set for 5:20's not bad enough, I woke up before 5am today and couldn't go back to sleep.  By the time we got home from Lima I was ready to drop, which I did for a couple of hours.

We had a great time yesterday celebrating the 70th birthday of the first wife of Richard's late older brother.

Popping in for a quick "hello." It has been a busy and endless day of going and doing, doing and going. We took in a jazz concert this afternoon. Tonight, it's "100 Years of Broadway."

"The site of Roosevelt Raceway is part of the Hempstead Plains, located in an unincorporated area of the Town of Hempstead, within the Westbury 11590 Zip Code. It is located near where the first English Governor of New York, Richard Nicolls, established the "Newmarket Course", the first horse racing track in North America (and indeed, the first organized sport of any kind) in the territory that would become the United States, in 1664"

Walt Whitman's stomping grounds?  A mall (at least they named it after him... so thousands of children  have grown up thinking Walt Whitman was a mall .... no idea he was a man  and a poet

And gay!

Off to go watch the finale of Food Network Star as Luca Della Casa does his best to win the season. Should be fun.

TOD:  If I recall correctly, I've only been to a racetrack once--in Buffalo about 37 years ago, I'd guess!

ARG!  I went to the grocery store that causes me so much grief today and once again EVERYTHING has been moved.  I got irritated just thinking about it so when they asked me how everything was and if I found everything I told them what I thought.   I think I make a bigger deal out of this than I need to, but it's hard to find anything there.  On the positive side, the way over ordered watermelon so they were 99 cents a piece!

Whew!  Lots of chores done today. Tired. But looking forward to an evening of rest.  Still have lots of cleaning to do this week to be read for Jon and Joe to come next Saturday, but I'll get it done.  The laundry takes the longest and that's done. The rest I can do a little every night and it'll be good to go when they come visit

Well, she is the mother of Richard's oldest nieces and we've always been close to them.

Back from putting the fixes into the mixes - actually it had already been done and I just made some minor adjustments and I'm happy to say that other than any notes we may get from NY, which I may or may not do, this album is finally, at long last - DONE.

Very good news, BK!  Congrats!

Bryan had the day off and was able to call for a nice long chat :)

He and Keith spent a good part of the time discussing the scheduled surgery that Keith might cancel.  Bryan said he will talk to an orthopedist he knows and ask some questions.

Soon Bryan will be applying for a job even though he won't be done with his residency until May next year.  We told him if he moves to Portland or Seattle we would move there.  Of course the place he would like to live are favorite locations and more difficult to get a job.
