TOD

In Canada there were called whippets, The base was a cookie with a marshmallow on top which was covered by chocolate. There was only one way to eat. 1) break the chocolate up and eat it piece by piece 2) then the marshmallow 3) Then the cookie.

It took longer to eat than an "Oreo" which I also enjoyed.

Oreo also had what I called a "decadent" version chocolate covered.

Strange they were named for a dog, but at least you knew how to eat them properly.

The first time I ever accompanied a singer on the piano in public, it was on this piece. And this is what the sheet music looked like:

I had the same sheet music. Andre Popp was the orchestrator for Irma la Douce.

DR Sandra is out of the parking business and is now in pharmaceuticals.

Did she take a course for this or will they train her?

I do not like store bought cookies very much. Almost the only one I will eat is black forest whippets.  It is similar to the regular whippets but the bottom has a chocolate base and the filling is cherry.  is this not sold in the US?

For any Cole Porter fans:

Having listened to this singer butcher a few of these songs, I would recommend this only for scholars with patience. I wanted to hear unpublished stuff, like selections from "Mississippi Belle." That's about all I can take.

George, I saw "Russian Ark" a few years ago and found it fascinating. I love that you can see people leave their character part and just walk off set and still get involved in the theatricality of it all. Of course, it helps that I have very little knowledge of Russian history.

Yes, we had massive amounts of rain. I am fine -- but I've never seen so much water in the water retention basins at the church in the nine years we've been there!

I never had a store-bought cookie until I was in first grade. It was Christmas time and everyone was supposed to bring in cookies to share. Well, I chose several beautiful cookies, sat down and bit into one. It was atrocious. And as this was a Lutheran grade school, we had to eat everything on our plates, just as we had to do at home. I was ready to cry. It was a long time before I ever had a store-bought cookie after that.

In adult years, I like deep-fried Oreos.

I've never had a deep-fried Oreo.  But, I'm going to the fair today, so who knows what deep-fried deliciousness I'll have. :D
